The foundation for RURAL TV’s daily program schedule focuses on the business of rural America and includes international programming. COMPANY HISTORY Rural Media Group, Inc. (RMG) owns and operates the world’s largest portfolio combining rural-based satellite/cable delivered media and entertainment companies including: RFD-TV, RFD HD, RURAL TV, RFD-TV The Magazine, and RFD-TV The Theatre. RURAL TV is RMG’s second 24/7 television network and is built upon the success of RFD-TV, which recently celebrated its 11th anniversary in serving the needs and interests of rural America.

RURAL MEDIA GROUP Timeline RFD-TV launches to 4 million homes as a public interest channel on DISH Network.

DIRECTV adds RFD-TV to its program lineup and the network is launched on a secondary satellite requiring a multi-sat dish for the viewer.

March 2002

RFD-TV moves its broadcast operations and uplinking to NorthStar Studios in Nashville, Tennesse.

June 2004 Two hours of original programming are added to the daily lineup.

November 2006 January 2007 March 2007 RFD HD, a new 24-hour high definition television network, is announced.

RFD-TV surpasses 30,000,000 homes reached through its satellite and cable distribution agreements. RFD-TV The Magazine obtains its 100,000th subscriber to its publication. RFD-TV The Theatre opens in Branson, Missouri with a sold out performance by Willie Nelson.

Verizon FiOS TV ads 6,500,000 homes in the east and west coast markets.

RFD-TV celebrates 10 years of broadcasting.

RFD-TV moves to the main DIRECTV satellite, adding an additional 12 million viewers.

RFD-TV enters its first float in the Tournament of Roses® Parade with a salute to the American farmer and rancher.

RFD-TV The Magazine publishes its first issue.

May 2005 September 2006

RFD-TV becomes a for-profit corporation after its long history as a nonprofit entity.

The first “live” show is produced; a call-in program featuring the President of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

RFD-TV surpasses 40,000,000 homes reached through its satellite and cable distribution agreements.

December 2010

RFD-TV honors Roy Rogers’ 100th birthday with the nationwide Trigger and Bullet Happy Trails Tour.

In its main distinction from RFD-TV, RURAL TV’s daily program schedule focuses on the business of rural America and includes international programming. RURAL TV is the gateway to experiencing other cultures; sharing time-honored ways, music, fascinating heritages and the knowledge used and shared by rural people all over the world.

Market Day Report M-F 9am-2pm (eastern) Market Day Report starts the weekday with five hours of “live” continuous coverage of rural news, weather, and commodity market coverage in constantly updated half-hour wheels. • Rural News (7 minutes) – Market Day Report leads off with an update of rural news and features the latest stories from agriculture associations, university and college agriculture programs, USDA headlines and stories from our rural partners. • Ag Weather (5 minutes) – An agricultural related weather segment gives viewers the latest look at weather that’s impacting agricultural markets around the globe. RURAL TV’s weather features important soil moisture and soil temperature stats with extended 6-10 day forecasts. • Grain Market Update (6 minutes) – In depth reports from the Chicago and Kansas City Board of Trades offer up to the minute pricing, plus periodic trader interviews. • Livestock Market Update (6 minutes) – Reports from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange give viewers the latest futures and cash markets, featuring periodic trader interviews.

Rural Evening News M-F 7:30pm-8pm (eastern) Rural Evening News anchors the primetime lineup, with dedicated news bureaus in Washington D.C., Chicago, Sao Paulo, and the U.K. Two mobile trucks offer extensive “live” rural event coverage, in addition to reports submitted by rural affiliate associations and organizations such as the American Farm Bureau, FFA, 4-H, State Farm Bureaus, commodity organizations, major agriculture/equine companies and world news from our international affiliates. Each newscast concludes with a “Farm Family of the Day” segment.

Horse Talk Live M-F 3pm-4pm (eastern) From English to Western, beginner basics to advanced techniques, associations and products, Horse Talk Live covers all disciplines and all breeds, with programming dedicated to the interests of both recreational riders and the most serious of competitors.

Additional Programming Afternoons feature the expansion of popular auction broadcasts of cattle, horses, farm equipment, and ranch real estate. Rural news, weather updates, Market Day Minutes, and equine news vignettes are also featured throughout the day with lifestyle programs covering rural travel destinations, country cooking, western movies, traditional country music and more.

MEET THE NEWS TEAM Liz Motley | Executive News Director / Anchor | liz@rfdtv.com Liz Motley is responsible for developing and producing Rural Evening News and Market Day Report. Motley is an award-winning television reporter and former host of local, national and international TV shows and news programs with over 20 years of experience in the broadcasting and cable television industries. She most recently was the vice president of programming for America’s Voice Cable TV Network, a national news/political talk cable network based in Washington D.C., where she created and developed live television programming with notable talents such as Billy Bush, Mary Matalin, Susan Molinari and Colonel Oliver North. She also managed a news team through live presidential election coverage, including coverage of the Republican and Democratic National Presidential Conventions. Mark Oppold | News Director / Lead Anchor | mark@rfdtv.com Mark Oppold is responsible for news broadcasts, including writing, editing, interviewing and announcing news coverage. He also serves as a liaison between other news production agencies. Oppold, a three year staff member of RFD-TV, has 35-years of agricultural broadcasting experience. He has worked for radio and television stations in Iowa and Missouri before joining RFD-TV. In 2010, he was awarded the New Holland Oscar in Agriculture Award for his documentary on the floods in Tennessee. He currently serves as president elect of the National Association of Farm Broadcasters and will continue to direct and report the news for both RFD-TV and RURAL TV.

Scot England | News Anchor | scot@rfdtv.com Scot England is responsible for broadcasting news and live weather along with many special features. England comes to RURAL TV from WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois, where he served as weekday morning anchor. He has 25 years of experience covering rural news, spending most of his career working in central Illinois. England knows first-hand how important updated commodity market information, weather and agricultural news is to producers and agribusiness.

Amber Jenne | Producer / Anchor | amber@rfdtv.com Amber Jenne is responsible for broadcasting RURAL TV special features, live remotes and weather. Jenne has worked on-air as an anchor, reporter and producer at TV stations in Illinois and Kansas City, Missouri. and as an entertainment host in Los Angeles, California. She received her Master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where she received high recognition for her storytelling by the Society of Professional Journalists.
