STATMENT OF INTENT

Accomplished Architectural Designer with more than 3 years of incorporating sustainable solutions into projects. Studying in both field of architecture and conservation of art objects has made me believe in an interdisciplinary view in analyzing phenomena and solving problems. The ability to analyze issues and provide creative solutions to solve them puts me in a unique position. Indeed, I look at architecture as an excellent medium to combine different knowledge and art areas to build a better future.

THESIS MODEL

The relationship between individuals and the aggregation of people in the pil grimage can be correlated to the bits in a digital system. This project applies this principle of one to many to the aggrega tion of building elements and buildings that form the route of the pilgrimage ar chitecturally. The potential of aggrega tion to create larger forms is leveraged in this project according to a discrete logic. Forms are amassed through a tech nique of combining smaller, self-similar components that have independent iden tities. This project positions calligraphy as an architectural material, building on its historical role as an ornament and as a means of articulating tectonic rela tionships through architectural surfaces. The discrete calligraphic forms have the potential to connect independent forms (components) in order to amass larger forms (super components).
