Studio Brief 2 Collaborative Practice

Character concepts sheet

For this competition by 11 Second Club on www.11secondclub.com I took on the brief to create an 11 second animation from the audio provided. To start off with as shown I created some character concepts. I used reference of a character called Spike from ‘Cowboy Bebop’ for my male character but at first he looked to similar to Spike. Therefore I narrowed down the design and simplified it into my own design which I used to change the appearance of my female character.

These are examples of some of the frames used in my animation as shown. The lip syncing wasn’t too well done besides the final dialog, but the hand gestures and head movements were well done for me. Unfortunately I had problem submitting and didn’t get it in for the voting.

Turn around character

For this monthly 11 Second Club audio I decided to use this character design I previously used for a turn around. As shown it looks very much inspired by the animated characters you see in music videos by ‘Gorillaz’.

These are examples of some of the frames used in my animation as shown. The lip syncing is better compared to my first animation and the hand gestures and head movements were also well done (besides at some points where there were to much hand gestures and little movement). I managed to submit this on time successfully and gained feedback for which can help me improve.
