For The Friends of Royal Brompton Hospital

I am working on a fundraising drive with The Friends of Royal Brompton, SW3, an independent charity (registered number 278058) which raises funds for projects around the hospital, specifically aimed at helping the paediatric intensive care and paediatric ward. I have taken on this cause because I have firsthand experience as a parent who has spent time with a child in the intensive care unit there. The specialist unit takes the sickest children in the country, most of which are on life support when they arrive and have become too sick to be cared for at the other more general major hospitals. We could not fault the medical care but they do currently have some needs which require funding: 1. They lack chairs for parents at the bedsides in the intensive care unit. 2. They are set to develop 2 sleep labs to monitor children with life threatening conditions for a night or two at a time. 3. The parents accommodation needs refurbishing. 4. SPRinT – Simulated Paediatric Resuscitation Team Training require an open heart model child. They recently designed the world’s first patient model to recreate and train staff to deal with emergency situations and now require a second.

How you can help Please help us to raise both money and awareness for the charity by agreeing to have a Brik board outside your house for four weeks from the 3rd of January 2012. For each board displayed Brik will donate £30 towards the charity. If you would like to help us, please contact Lynda Mackie - Tel: 07958 316738 Email: lyndacmackie@tiscali.co.uk.
