Design Brief

Welcome to Aspect House This proposal is for a replacement dwelling at the site of an old existing bungalow. Positioned just off a noisy A road, this stunning plot slopes steeply down to reveal stunning views to the rear.

The proposal will need to block out the road and frame the rolling hill views at the back of the property.

The steep slope will be incorporated into the design.

The Tapered Concept Tapering the design both vertically and horizontally minimizes the negative aspects of the site and maximises the positives.

The design starts small at the noisy road and expands outwards to reveal and frame magnificent views. The steep slope allows us to do this horizontally.

Upon arrival you are greeted with a grand entrance. Parking in the Car port (01) to your left, make your way to the front door and main entrance (02). A concealed store (09) contains shoes and coats. Two runs of stairs either take you to the ground or first floor.

Down to the ground floor your eyes are met directly out of the kitchen window (04).

Double heighted space in the dining room (03) has been made possible by the glazed link, allowing sunlight to pass through. This is reflected again in the main lounge (05) with overlap from the canterleavered bedroom above.

Up the stairs you’re greeted by the door to Bedroom 01 (01) which tapers outwards to reveal the views. Walkways bridges via the glazed links take you to the other bedrooms.

Left from the stairs takes you to Bedroom 02 (04) with double bed, dressing room and ensuite, to the back is a balcony (07) looking out onto the property entrance.

Right from the stairs takes you to Bedroom 03 (08) and Bedroom 04. Bedroom 03 with double bed and ensuite. Bedroom 04 being the unusual shape to maximise the views and the rear and additionally provide a balcony.

structure

takes

advantage of the slope by allowing the height to increase at the rear of the property where the primary views are.

Most of the glass has been

positioned

at

this end to maxmise impact and sunlight.
