With a name that catches the eye we present to the band "Hello Casanova" from Armagh, a place in Northern Ireland, which is not characterized by rock sound, and less punk rock. So we approach Matt Irwin, his lead singer and guitarist, to try to understand how they coexist with their promising single "I'll Be Waiting", which will be released on November 25 under the English label Supersonic Media.

Where did your band name come from? Why did you change your name from "Foreign Affairs NI" to "Hello Casanova"?

We recently signed with an independent label in London called, 'Supersonic Media' and they suggested that we change our name to something more original as there were a few other bands called, 'Foreign Affairs' and Ethan came up with 'Hello Casanova', which we all thought was cool!

How did your band come about?

It came about through furniture! Martin (our drummer) was friends with my mum and dad and he was moving house so my parents offered him some of our old furniture! He seen a drum kit in my room and offered his services if I ever wanted to start a band! Ethan (our guitarist) has been s childhood friend of mine and he was in and out of bands before I asked him to play guitar! The rest is history!

What’s it like to be a punk rock band living in Armagh, where the Catholic religion and Celtic culture are so important?

We don't focus on religion at all really! We just focus on making the best music we can and hope that

people enjoy it! In Armagh it's hard for local bands!

Everybody supports cover bands and goes to see Country artists! It's hard to get good gigs there too...

You have to go to Belfast or Dublin for those! Belfast is where we base ourselves normally however we love to play a hometown show every now and again!

What can you tell us about your new single ‘I'll Be Waiting’ and your new label?

I'll Be Waiting is the happiest song we've ever written! It's about my girlfriend and it's a burst of positive energy compared to our older more political songs! I think it's a great song along and tons of fun!

Supersonic Media caught us and are putting the single out for us which we're super excited about!

Can we expect an album anytime soon?

Eventually yes! We have a lot of material and it is in the pipeline! However, I'm sure there'll be a few more singles before we commit to a full LP! Why should we listen to Hello Casanova?

Do you have any plans in the next year or so for Hello Casanova?

We have already started recording our next single, we are dying to play in different countries (if anybody reading this wants us to play for you get in contact) and we're just going to give everything we've got to get out there! Shows, singles and hard work is what the next year will be!
