Biannual, the Sao Paulo Auto Show is the largest Live Marketing Event in the trade fairs , and theme of the main subject of this issue. In addition to the event, we will show the auto parts business, components and systems that place to run the machines that will be exhibited in the Hall. About 750 thousand visitors will follow fascinated by major releases (some affordable and some not) and innovations of manufacturers. At the same time they are being impacted daily by several actions of the brands that will be present in the Hall. Nascido na França, Hervé Sedky é formado em Administração Internacional de Empresas pela Northeastern University, com especialização no curso de Programa de Gerenciamento Executivo (PMD), da Harvard Business School. Hervé atuou durante 22 anos como executivo da American Express Company, ocupando os cargos de vice-presidente Sênior e diretor-geral da American Express Business Travel.

Em 2014, Hervé se juntou a Reed Exhibitions para ocupar o cargo que antes pertencia a Chet Burchett, atual CEO global da empresa. Como presidente da Reed Exhibitions Américas, Hervé é o responsável por uma empresa que organiza anualmente mais de 100 eventos e exposições líderes em seus setores na América do Norte e do Sul. A Radar Magazine conversou com o executivo, que falou sobre suas perspectivas deste mercado e a atuação da Reed Exhibitions no Brasil e no mundo.

Born in France, Hervé Sedky graduated in International Business Management at Northeastern University and specialized in the Executive Management Program (EMP) at Harvard Business School. Hervé served for 22 years as executive director of the American Express Company, occupying the positions of Senior Vice President and CEO of American Express Business Travel.

In 2014, Hervé joined the Reed Exhibitions to occupy the position which before belonged to Chet Burchett, current CEO global enterprise. As President of Reed Exhibitions Americas, Hervé is responsible for a company that organizes annually more than 100 events and exhibitions, being market leaders in their segment in North and South America. The Radar Magazine talked to the executive, who spoke about his prospects of this market and the performance of Reed Exhibitions in Brazil and around the world.

Quais os principais desafios de ser o responsável pelas Américas em uma empresa líder do setor de feiras?

Tenho a sorte de gerir uma divisão da empresa em que existe a oportunidade de partilhar as melhores práticas entre os três mercados em que operamos na América. Escuto de nossos expositores e visitantes que eles veem a Reed Exhibitions como um elo fundamental para alcançar os seus objetivos de marketing e negócios. Por isso, é nossa obrigação buscar formas de sempre melhorarmos o que podemos oferecer a eles.

Este desafio se estende para além do “chão” das feiras. É um trabalho que deve ser feito ao longo do ano. Por isso, estamos investindo fortemente para compreender a fundo as necessidades de nossos clientes e, com isso, desenvolveremos produtos ligados à área digital e

What are the main challenges of being responsible for the Americas in a company leader in the segment of fairs and events?

I am lucky to manage a division of the company in which there is an opportunity to share the best practices among the three markets in which we operate in America. I hear from our exhibitors and visitors that they see the Reed Exhibitions as an essential link to achieve their marketing and business objectives. That is why it is our obligation to seek new ways to always improve what we can offer them.

And how can you improve?

This challenge extends beyond the "floor" of the fairs. It is a job that has to be done throughout the year. Because of this, we are investing heavily to a deep understanding of the needs of our customers and with this we will develop products

In Americas, during 2017, we will hold more than 100 events taking place in the USA, Mexico and Brazil.

Como é a estrutura da Reed Exhibitions?

A Reed Exhibitions é liderada pelo Chet Burchett, nosso CEO mundial. Operamos em 30 países, com 500 eventos organizados em quatro regiões geográficas principais: Américas, Ásia, Europa e Oriente Médio. Cada região possui seu presidente.

How is the Reed Exhibitions structure?

Reed Exhibitions is led by Chet Burchett, our global CEO. We operate in 30 countries with 500 events organized in four geographic regions: Americas, Asia, Europe and Middle East. Each region has its president.

E como é a divisão desta estrutura nas Américas?

Na região das Américas, algumas funções operacionais estão ligadas a mim e outras a seus respectivos presidentes em cada país. A parte de digital, M&A, tecnologia e TI, financeiro, RH e jurídico são ligadas a mim, assim como os dois presidentes que lideram a operação no México/Estados Unidos e no Brasil, Nancy Walsh e Fernando Fischer, respectivamente. Estes dois presidentes são os responsáveis por gerenciar as equipes locais, o portfólio, as vendas, o marketing, a operação, o atendimento aos clientes e realizar a análise de dados.

Nas Américas, a Reed tem escritórios nos EUA, México e Brasil. Pretendem abrir outros escritórios nos continentes?

A Reed Exhibitions está sempre interessada em entrar em novos mercados em que podemos agregar valor à indústria de exposições local, à sua economia e, especialmente, onde podemos levar nossas próprias marcas. É naturalmente importante para nós entrar em mercados que continuarão a permitir nosso crescimento e alcançar um bom nível de escala. Também analisamos com muito cuidado como novos mercados podem beneficiar a nossa presença nas Américas e o que poderemos oferecer aos nossos clientes nos setores de mercado que já atuamos. No momento, enquanto não temos planos iminentes de expandir nossa presença física em outros países das Américas, seguiremos de olho nos melhores momentos e oportunidades.

Temos visto um forte aumento na indústria de feiras no México. Como você vê este mercado?

O México é e continuará a ser um mercado extremamente importante para a Reed Exhibitions. Somos, por uma margem considerável, o maior promotor de feiras do país e estamos empenhados em continuar a expandir nossa presença. O México 18

And how is the division of this structure in the Americas?

In the Region of the Americas, some operational functions are linked to me and others to their respective presidents in each country. The digital, M&A, technology and IT, finances, HR and legal framework areas are linked to me, as well as the two Presidents who lead the operation in Mexico/United States and in Brazil, Nancy Walsh and Fernando Fischer, respectively. These two presidents are responsible for managing the local teams, portfolio, sales, marketing, operations, customer service and to conduct the data analysis.

In Americas, Reed has offices in the USA, Mexico and Brazil.

Does the company intend to open other offices in the Americas?

Reed Exhibitions is always interested in entering in new markets in which we can add value to the industry of local exhibitions, to its economy and, especially, where we can bring our own brands.

It is naturally important for us to enter into markets that will continue to allow our growth and achieve a good level of scale gain. We also analyze carefully how these new markets can benefit from our presence in the Americas and what we can offer to our customers in the market in which we already operate. At this moment, as we do not have imminent plans to expand our physical presence in other countries of the Americas, we will continue to keep an eye at the best moments and opportunities.

We have seen a sharp increase in the industry of trade fairs in Mexico. How do you see this market?

Mexico is (and will remain to be) a very important market for Reed Exhibitions. We are, by a considerable margin, the largest promoter of trade fairs in the country and we are committed to continue to expand our presence. Mexico is seen by Reed as an attractive and in growth market, with diversified activities sectors. This, alongside with the local positive entrepreneurial culture and which appreciates conducting business in person, makes Mexico a very attractive environment to run events.

Nós construímos nosso negócio no México por meio de uma combinação entre aquisição e lançamentos de eventos nossos. Estamos sempre em busca de oportunidades de parcerias com associações e empresários locais do México, onde temos um grande histórico de sucesso e podemos ajudá-los a promover o crescimento de seus eventos. Também estamos trabalhando em uma série de oportunidades para nossos eventos globais no México, que em contrapartida está investido e comprometido a ajudar o desenvolvimento da indústria de eventos nacional e toda sua cadeia.

Qual é a importância do mercado brasileiro para a empresa e como você vê o desempenho de Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado?

O mercado brasileiro é extremamente importante para Reed Exhibitions. Historicamente, o Brasil tem sido um importante motor de crescimento e estamos ansiosos para a recuperação da economia. Sabemos que isto não irá ocorrer da noite para o dia, assim como sabemos que a indústria de feiras terá um atraso de retomada em relação à economia quando o período de recessão acabar. Por isso, o nosso foco neste momento é garantir retorno aos clientes que participam dos nossos eventos e que a Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado possa colaborar com seus negócios neste momento difícil.

Quais regiões você enxerga com potencial de crescimento para feiras nos próximos anos?

Eu acredito que os mercados emergentes continuarão a oferecer oportunidades para um player global, como a Reed Exhibitions.

Estamos empenhados em continuar a investir no desenvolvimento de nossa presença nessas áreas. Uma série de grandes países e regiões em que a Reed tem uma presença significativa também enfrenta períodos econômicos difíceis, mas acreditamos que,

And how was your entry into this market?

We have built our business in Mexico through a combination of acquisition and release of our events. We are always looking for opportunities for partnerships with associations and local entrepreneurs in Mexico, where we have a great history of success and where we can help them to promote the growth of their events.

We are also working on series of opportunities for our global events in Mexico, which in turn is invested and committed to help the development of the national events and all its chain.

What is the importance of the Brazilian market for the company and how do you see the performance of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado?

The Brazilian market is extremely important for Reed Exhibitions.

Historically, Brazil has been an important engine of growth and we look forward to the recovery of the economy. We know that this will not happen overnight, just as we know that the trade fairs industry will have a delay of recovery comparing to the economy when the recession period runs out. That is why our focus at the moment is to ensure a feedback to customers who participate in our events and that Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado can collaborate with their business during this difficult time.

Which regions do you consider with a growth potential for trade fairs in the following years?

I believe that emerging markets will continue to offer opportunities for a global player as Reed Exhibitions. We are committed Radar Magazine | Novembro/Dezembro 2016

quando se recuperarem plenamente, serão ótimas oportunidades de negócios, incluindo a zona do Euro, China e Brasil.

Nos últimos anos o mercado brasileiro de feiras de negócios tem sido dominado por grandes empresas multinacionais.

Como você vê esse movimento?

Embora muitos dos grandes players já estejam no Brasil, acredito que outros ainda tentarão entrar com a melhora do cenário econômico. A participação da Reed Exhibitions no mercado brasileiro tem sido muito positiva, gerando empregos, investimentos e compartilhando as melhores práticas de nosso negócio global. Acredito também que a dinâmica desta indústria ainda irá evoluir. Nos Estados Unidos, por exemplo, temos acompanhado um significativo crescimento de fundos de investimentos neste setor de feiras. Embora no Brasil isso ainda ocorra de uma maneira limitada, eu acredito que aumentará no futuro.

Com a grande diferença entre a nossa moeda e o dólar e o euro, agora é uma boa oportunidade para novas aquisições de empresas ou feiras específicas no Brasil?

A moeda é um fator importante e certamente faz do mercado brasileiro um local mais atraente do ponto de vista de investimento. No entanto, existe uma série de outros fatores igualmente importantes e que temos que levar em conta antes de investir ainda mais. O mais importante deles é a recuperação da economia e o impacto que a aquisição de novos eventos pode ter em nosso negócio, principalmente em um período desafiador. Estamos, sim, interessados em fazer aquisições e investir em lançamentos, mas vamos fazer de forma seletiva, em setores que oferecem características de crescimento atraentes e nos quais podemos adicionar valor através de nossos eventos já existentes nas Américas.

Que setores a Reed Exhibitions não atua ainda, mas acredita que pode ser explorado no mercado brasileiro?

Existe uma série de maneiras de aumentar os setores de mercado abrangidos pela Reed Exhibitions. Uma delas é alavancar nossos eventos globais para que eles possam atravessar as fronteiras com êxito. A Batimat e Pollutec, por exemplo, são eventos globais e de sucesso no Brasil. Isto pode ser extremamente vantajoso, pois podemos trazer clientes internacionais para o mercado a partir de nossas capacidades de vendas globais. Outras oportunidades são por meio de lançamentos e aquisições. E, finalmente, e mais importante de tudo, queremos entrar em novos setores em que acreditamos que podemos adicionar valor aos nossos clientes, nacional e RR internacionalmente.

In recent years the Brazilian market of business fairs has been dominated by large multinational companies. How do you see this movement?

Although many of the major players are already in Brazil, I believe that others will seek to enter into it with the improvement of the economic scenario. The participation of Reed Exhibitions in the Brazilian market has been very positive, generating jobs, investments and sharing our best practices of our global business. I also believe that the dynamics of this industry will evolve.

In the United States, for example, we have followed a significant growth of investment funds in the sector of fairs. Although in Brazil this still occurs in a limited way, I believe that it will increase in the future.

With the big difference between our currency and the Dollar and the Euro, is now a good opportunity for new acquisitions of companies or specific fairs in Brazil?

The currency is an important factor and certainly makes the stock market a more attractive place from the point of view of investment. However, there are a number of other factors that are equally important and that we have to take into account before investing even more. The most important of these is the recovery of the economy and the impact that the acquisition of new events may have on our business, especially in a challenging period. We are interested in making purchases and investing in new releases, but we will do it selectively, in sectors that offer attractive growth characteristics and where we can add value through our events that already exist in Americas.

In which sectors Reed Exhibitions does not act yet but you believe that can be exploited in the Brazilian market?

There are several ways that we consider to increase the market sectors covered by Reed Exhibitions. One of them is how we can leverage our global events and where they can cross borders with success. Batimat and Pollutec, for example, are successful global events in Brazil. This can be extremely beneficial, because we can bring international customers to the market through our capacities of global sales. Other opportunities are through releases and acquisitions. And finally, and most important of all, we want to enter into new areas where we believe we can add value to our RR customers, locally and internationally.

São incontáveis marcas de automóveis espalhados pelo planeta. Contudo, três marcas se destacam por desenhar a indústria automobilística moderna: Ford, GM e Toyota. Mas antes é preciso voltar uma pouco mais na história e conhecer Karl Benz. Ou melhor, Karl e sua esposa Bertha Benz.

Karl, com o financiamento da esposa, criou, em 1886, o primeiro veículo movido a combustão interna, considerado ancestral direto do automóvel moderno. Além de contribuir financeiramente com seu marido engenheiro, Bertha mostrou ao mundo a engenhoca de Benz, dirigindo por mais de 100 km o veículo, que era basicamente formado por três pneus, um motor na traseira, um “chassi” de madeira, um banco e um volante, que era uma manivela. Em 1888, Benz vendeu seu primeiro automóvel, dando início ao embrião da Mercedes-Benz que entregou 2,07 milhões de veículos no mundo todo em 2015.

Anos se passaram, evoluções aconteceram, até que, em 1896, Henry Ford com o Ford T revolucionou a indústria ao colocar em prática o que seria mais tarde conhecido como o “Fordismo”, sistema de produção industrial baseado na fabricação em larga escala, especialização do trabalho e linha de montagem. Este modelo trouxe redução de tempo e de custo na fabricação. Se por um lado Ford popularizou o automóvel, do outro, criou um produto estandardizado. Nenhum Ford T saía da fábrica com algum item ou cor diferente. Todos eram pretos.

The number of car brands around the planet is countless. However three brands stand out for designing the modern automotive industry: Ford, GM and Toyota. Before, however, it is necessary to go back a little further in history, and get to know Karl Benz. Or, rather, Karl and his wife Bertha Benz.

Karl, with funding from his wife, created the first vehicle powered by an internal combustion engines in 1886, considered a direct ancestor of the modern automobile. In addition to financially contributing to her engineer husband, Bertha has shown the world Benz’s gadget, driving this gadget for over 100km, when it was basically composed of three tires, an engine at the rear, a wooden "chassis”, a seat and a steering wheel, which was a crank. In 1888 Benz sold his first automobile, initiating the embryo of Mercedes-Benz, which delivered 2.07 million vehicles worldwide in 2015.

Years went by, evolutions took place, until 1896, when Henry Ford with the Ford T revolutionized the industry by putting into practice what would later be known as "Fordism", an industrial production system based on manufacturing on a large scale, specialization of labor and the assembly line. De olho nas novas demandas do mercado e aproveitando este nicho, a General Motors (GM) optou pela diversificação de sua linha de produtos por meio da criação de cinco divisões distintas sob a mesma corporação. O presidente da companhia, Alfred Sloan Jr., sabia que não conseguiria superar a escala de produção da Ford e, consequentemente, bater seu preço. Por isto, seus modelos iam desde o mais barato (Chevrolet) aos mais caros (Cadillac), com inúmeras opções de cores, número de portas, material dos bancos e opções de carrocerias. Era o início também de uma mudança no mercado, com a introdução do marketing e do desejo colocado no consumidor de ter um carro diferente a cada ano.

As ideias de Henry e Sloan ditaram o mercado durante anos até que, em 1960, a Toyota entrou na história com seu Sistema Toyota de Produção. O “Toyotismo” ficou conhecido por implementar um sistema flexível de mecanização, voltado para a produção somente do necessário, evitando ao máximo o excedente. Nele está incluso o controle visual de todas as etapas, aplicação do sistema Just in Time (produzir somente o necessário, no tempo necessário e na quantidade necessária) e uso de pesquisas de mercado para adaptar os produtos às exigências dos clientes.

Keeping an eye on new market demands and taking advantage of this niche, General Motors (GM) has opted for diversification of its product line by creating five different divisions under the same corporation. From the body to the screws, a car is made of three to six thousand parts that should fit with the precision of a highly technological jigsaw puzzle.

“The innovations occur in conjunction so that we may also, along with the automakers, see what new products we may release.

Em 2013, o Brasil produzia cerca de 3.7 milhões de veículos e a expectativa é fechar este ano com 2 milhões. Os dados da Associação Nacional dos Fabricantes de Veículos Automotores (ANFAVEA) apontam que a produção ficou 3,9% menor, com 170,8 mil unidades em setembro e 177,7 mil em agosto. O setor automotivo produziu no acumulado deste ano 1,55 milhão de unidades, o que mostra contração de 18,5% no comparativo com as 1,90 milhão do ano anterior. Os dados apontam também uma retração de 13% nas vendas de veículos novos, com 160 mil unidades comercializadas em setembro e 183,9 mil em agosto.

Para o presidente da ANFAVEA, Antonio Megale, o desempenho caminha no sentido da estabilidade, mas fatores pontuais têm provocado variações inesperadas. “Além de setembro ter dois dias úteis a menos, notamos dificuldade dos consumidores em conseguir financiamento de veículos novos, uma vez que os bancos estavam em greve, o que certamente influenciou o balanço”, aponta.

“O mercado de reposição representava para nós algo em torno de 12% do total de nossas vendas e, hoje, já está em cerca de 18%”, afirma Paulo Santos, presidente da Delphi para a América do Sul. Desde 2014, quando a crise começou, a Delphi fez uma leitura do mercado e as consequências disto para seu negócio, e iniciou um processo de redesenho para a região que se baseou em um tripé: maximizar a utilização da capacidade na região, ir a novos mercados por meio da exportação e incrementar o mercado de reposição. Hoje, 30% do que é produzido pela Delphi na região é exportado tanto para o Mercosul como para mercados mais maduros como Estados Unidos e Europa.

Com suas quatro fortes marcas: LuK, INA, FAG e Ruville, a Schaeffler está presente, além do setor automotivo, também no industrial onde oferece milhares de produtos de catálogo com as marcas INA e FAG produzidos em série, que cobrem aplicações em diversos setores da indústria, tais como agricultura, ferroviária, alimentícia e etc. “Este conjunto de atividades que temos fez com que nosso resultado não fosse tão afetado pela queda das montadoras. Nosso Aftermarket está muito bem, estamos crescendo em relação ao ano passado, assim como já crescemos de 2015 para 2016”, afirma Rubens. A Schaeffler investe muito no lançamento

No Brasil, por enquanto, não existem projetos de veículos elétricos e híbridos com produção em larga escala. A tecnologia só deve aparecer no Brasil a partir de 2022. A Delphi tem hoje uma liderança na tecnologia de carros autônomos e vem trabalhando, por meio de aquisições e parcerias, no desenvolvimento de uma solução que possa ser aplicada em qualquer plataforma. Ano passado, o primeiro veículo totalmente autônomo da empresa cruzou os Estados Unidos da costa

Our commitment is to have, by 2019, a solution on a large scale to be sold," says Santos.

A tendência é que a indústria automobilística passe por uma nova revolução nos próximos anos.

Desta vez, não necessariamente em sua linha de produção, mas comandada principalmente pelas novas tecnologias que as empresas de autopeças, sistemas e componentes trarão para as montadoras.

Salão do Automóvel O resultado final de toda esta cadeia pode ser conferido a cada dois anos no Salão Internacional do Automóvel de São Paulo, que acontece em novembro. Pela primeira vez, o Salão estará “estacionado” em um novo pavilhão, deixando o Anhembi para ocupar mais de 90 mil m² no São Paulo Expo, na Zona Sul da capital paulista. Com a mudança, a organização pretende resolver dois dos principais gargalos que incomodavam os cerca de 750 mil visitantes que visitam o Salão: estacionamento e ar-condicionado. Totalmente climatizado e com 4,5 mil vagas cobertas e 1,5 mil descobertas, o São Paulo Expo também permitirá mais eventos simultâneos e maior espaço para test drives. “Trabalhamos em um evento para pessoas de todas as idades, especialmente para os apaixonados por carros. Um encontro que traga surpresas a cada estande visitado. Por isso, iremos superar as 100 horas de atividades que oferecemos em 2014”, explica Fernando Fischer, presidente da Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, organizadora do evento.

For the first time the showroom is "parked" in a new pavilion, leaving Anhembi to occupy over 90 thousand m² at São Paulo Expo. With this change the organization intends to solve two major challenges that bother the approximately 750 thousand visitors who visit the showroom, who always complained about parking and air-conditioning. Fully air-conditioned and with 4,500 covered and uncovered 1,500 parking spaces, the São Paulo Expo will also allow more simultaneous events and more space for testdrives. “We work in an event for people of all ages, especially the car lovers. An event that brings surprises at every stand visited. Therefore, we will overcome the 100 hours of activities we offered in 2014," explains Fernando Fischer, President of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, organizer of the event.

For the test drives, the brands GM, Jaguar, Land Rover, Peugeot, Citroen and Volkswagen have confirmed the presence of their cars so that visitors can experience them in an outside area of 20 thousand m². Summing up everything there will be 110 thousand m² of experience for car lovers.

já confirmaram a presença de seus automóveis para que os visitantes possam experimentá-los em uma área externa de 20 mil m². Somando tudo, serão 110 mil m² de experiência para os apaixonados por carros.

A estimativa é que 15 montadoras levem 35 modelos diferentes para testes, com um total de até 100 veículos. A previsão é que cerca de 40 mil pessoas possam dirigir os carros no evento, no asfalto e na terra. Na área de exposição, o Salão conta com a presença de todas as marcas de automóveis comercializadas no Brasil. Serão mais de 540 veículos expostos e a promessa de muitas novidades. “As montadoras aguardam o Salão para mostrar seus lançamentos. Mesmo em um momento econômico mais complexo, é o grande espaço para a indústria automotiva no país e na América Latina. São inúmeros os casos de modelos lançados durante o Salão que se transformaram em sucesso de vendas. O Renegade e o HR-V, lançados na edição de 2014, são dois bons exemplos disso”, relembra Fischer.

Na parte de conteúdo, opções também não irão faltar. A Associação Brasileira de Engenharia Automotiva (AEA) realiza, no dia 16, o Encontro AEA do Conhecimento Técnico, destinado aos executivos e profissionais da indústria automobilística. Em outro evento, os associados da AIAFA poderão acompanhar, no primeiro dia de evento, uma jornada de palestras no Congresso AIAFA Brasil de Gestores de Frotas pela manhã e visitar o Salão à tarde.

No dia 17 de novembro é a vez do Fórum Salão Internacional do Automóvel 2016, que abordará as mudanças no comportamento dos consumidores, novos entrantes ligados à tecnologia, restrições ambientais e muito mais.

O Salão também será palco para importantes premiações. No dia 16, a Agência AutoInforme, em parceria com a TextoFinal de Comunicação Integrada, realiza a 3ª edição do Prêmio Maior Valor de Revenda Autos, que homenageia os carros e comerciais leves que obtiveram a menor depreciação após um ano de uso. No dia 10, a comunidade do automobilismo brasileiro comemora os 20 anos de sua grande festa anual: O Capacete de Ouro, considerado o Oscar do esporte a motor nacional. A tradicional solenidade recebe grandes pilotos e ídolos do automobilismo que correm no Brasil e no exterior, preparadores, dirigentes, patrocinadores, empresários do setor, artistas e esportistas de outras modalidades.

Neste ano, o Salão do Automóvel será brindado durante seu calendário com a realização do GP Brasil de Fórmula 1, entre 13 e 15 de novembro, transformando a cidade de São Paulo no polo mundial do universo automotivo. Um sonho para os fãs da velocidade. Por falar em sonho, outra novidade para este ano é o Dream Lounge, espaço destinado a produtos de desejo.

É impossível saber qual o exato tamanho da frota de veículos no Brasil. A mais recente estimativa é de que 50 milhões rodem pelas ruas e estradas brasileiras. Se por um lado é complicado quantificar em números o tamanho do problema, pelo outro fica fácil mensurar em horas o desperdício de tempo que passamos travados nos congestionamentos.

De acordo com pesquisa divulgada ano passado pela Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI), cerca de 31% dos brasileiros passam mais de uma hora por dia para se deslocar para o trabalho ou para escola. Nas cidades com mais de 100 mil habitantes, 39% deles passam mais de uma hora no trânsito. Destes, 4% gastam mais de três horas por dia.

A solução do problema não é fácil, mas um dos caminhos está na integração dos modais e, principalmente, no transporte sob os trilhos. Não apenas o metrô e trem, mas soluções que muitas vezes podem ser mais economicamente viáveis como o monotrilho ou o Veículo Leve sobre Trilhos (VLT). Estes dois últimos ganharam mais holofotes no Brasil graças à Copa do Mundo e às Olimpíadas, quando se tornaram uma nova opção de transporte coletivo.

A mobilidade será um dos temas que irão nortear mais uma edição da Negócios nos Trilhos (NT Expo), principal evento da América do Sul voltado para a cadeia do setor metroferroviário. “Realmente esse é um momento muito importante para todo o setor metroferroviário e eu destacaria que não só para o setor de passageiros, mas também para o setor de transporte de cargas. The most recent estimate is that 50 million drive through Brazilian streets and roads. On one hand it is difficult to quantify in numbers how big of an issue this is, on the other hand it is easy to measure in hours the time we waste when caught in traffic.

Eles estão por todas as partes, presentes no dia a dia de muitas pessoas, mas poucas sabem quem são os poliuretanos (PU). Resultado da reação química entre o poliol e o isocianato, o composto é um dos polímeros mais usados e de maior importância em diversos mercados de bens de consumo e industrial. Ele está presente na fabricação da espuma do colchão, da esponja de lavar louça, em geladeiras, pranchas de surf, lycra, em solado de calçados e em outros locais onde você menos imagina.

Com tantos problemas naturais e alertas para a preservação do meio ambiente, a indústria do plástico necessita de novas formas sustentáveis de produção. O poliuretano, por exemplo, precisa de um agente de expansão. No passado, era o clorofluorcarboneto (CFC), porém, em 1987, os países foram obrigados a cessar o uso deste composto, já que estudos alertaram seu envolvimento com a degradação da camada de ozônio. Para não parar a produção, grande parte do setor optou pela utilização do hidroclorofluorcarboneto (HCFC), mas por estar relacionado ao aquecimento global, foi estabelecido que o HCFC deveria ser eliminado dos processos produtivos. A Europa e os Estados Unidos já utilizam gases menos

With so many natural problems and alerts to the environment preservation, the plastics industry needs new and sustainable production methods. Polyurethane, for example, needs a expanding agent, that in the past was the chlorofluorocarbon (CFC), however, in 1987 the countries were forced to stop using this compound, since studies have warned its involvement with the degradation of the ozone layer. Not to stop the production, large part of the industry chose to use hidroclorofluorcarboneto (HCFC), but because it is related to global warming, it was established that HCFCs should be eliminated from the production processes. Europe and the United States are already using less harmful gases, in Brazil, the use of HCFC are in its final days.

O alerta será dado pelo Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD) durante a Feiplar Composites & Feipur 2016 - Feira e Congresso Internacionais de Composites, Poliuretano e Plásticos de Engenharia. “Durante o evento, a ONU, através do PNUD, estará em palestras falando sobre essa transição e darão toda a assessoria necessária”, explicou Simone Martins Souza, diretora do Grupo Artsim, organizadora do evento.

O evento bienal conta com uma área de exposição apresentando os produtos de cerca de 300 empresas, além dos congressos e seminários técnicos. Para este ano, a Feiplar Composites & Feipur traz como tema principal a sustentabilidade. O evento abrange cerca de 26 mercados. Metade deles será trabalhado por meio dos painéis setoriais (seminários técnicos) e a outra metade pela mostra de peças, que são as seções especiais. Entre as novidades está a área de treinamento, onde serão ministradas aulas de como fazer peças, seja na parte de composites ou poliuretano, com as soluções já conhecidas.

Presente no Brasil desde 1953, a empresa alemã Evonick é uma das líderes mundiais em especialidades químicas e apresentará cerca de 15 novos produtos durante o evento. Serão novos aditivos para espumas de poliuretanos, além do lançamento do projeto “Evonik PU Foam Academy” e da apresentação de trabalhos técnicos nos painéis setoriais.

A empresa tem um apelo muito forte na questão da sustentabilidade e, entre os produtos, estará o TEGOAMIN ZE 5, catalisador especial de amina terciária com emissão zero. “O material deste produto tem baixas emissões de gases e seu princípio do aditivo é o mesmo do PNUD”, conta Roberto Luiz, gerente de poliuretanos da Evonik.

O evento traz ainda o “Prêmio Excelência”, que homenageia os desenRR volvedores de peças do setor.

Para esta edição, foram criados novos mecanismos para fortalecer o sistema de agendamentos e outras ações que, juntas, deram força e credibilidade ao evento. Destaque deste ano, o Espaço Luxury proporcionou, em sua primeira edição, uma experiência única. Realizado dentro de um espaço exclusivo, contou com uma programação paralela que permitiu a interação entre um seleto grupo de participantes, como expositores e 122 hosted buyers do Brasil e do exterior.

Foram cerca de 2 mil marcas e destinos, entre elas a Confederação Nacional do Comércio (CNC), que levou ao evento um estande com uma configuração mista com Sesc e Senac. Em parceria com a Fecomercio SP, a CNC também apresentou um trabalho que está sendo desenvolvido para o aprimoramento da lei geral do turismo. “O Festuris não só impacta o turismo da região Sul, mas também acaba sendo um consolidador de projetos, vendas e comercialização de pré-temporada para todo o Brasil”, declara Alexandre Sampaio, presidente do Conselho Empresarial de Turismo e Hospitalidade RR (Cetur), da CNC.

Redondo, gigante e responsável pela vida de milhões de espécies de seres vivos: este é o planeta Terra. Distribuído em continentes e muita água, compõem esse ponto em meio a um universo gigante diversas culturas, nações e países. Segundo a Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU), existem 193 países. No entanto, o número varia de acordo com o responsável pela contagem. O Comitê Olímpico Internacional (COI), por exemplo, contabiliza 206, enquanto a Fifa, 209.

As variações seguem os critérios avaliativos de cada entidade, mas nem sempre o número de países foi vasto assim, já que no início do século XX existiam apenas 57. Ao longo da história, muitas nações ganharam sua independência, e assim, foram traçados novos formatos na distribuição do mapa mundial. O último país a conseguir este feito foi o Sudão do Sul, em 2011.

Com tantos países e pessoas diferentes, imagine a variedade cultural existente na Terra. Esta diversidade cultural se refere ao conjunto de costumes e tradições de um povo que são transmitidas de geração em geração, como vestimenta, culinária, manifestações religiosas, etc.

Anualmente, o Rio de Janeiro recebe um dos mais tradicionais eventos socioculturais do país: a Feira da Providência. Com o tema “O Mundo Unido pela Cultura”, o encontro comemora 56 edições neste ano e convida seus visitantes para uma volta ao mundo por meio das tradições, do folclore, da arte e da gastronomia de diferentes estados e países durante cinco dias.

Promovido pelo Banco da Providência, organização social que conta com projetos de desenvolvimento humano, capacitação profissional e geração de renda, o evento não é um local apenas para fazer as compras de Natal e se divertir. A Feira da Providência é uma festa da solidariedade, já que 100% da renda é revertida para projetos sociais que atendem mais de 2 mil famílias em situação de extrema pobreza por ano. “Nós acreditamos na solidariedade, nos princípios da cultura, da paz e da Unesco. Mesmo sendo um evento comercial, onde temos mais de 200 expositores, sempre tentamos passar o que é a essência do Banco da Providência: a solidariedade entre as pessoas”, afirma Clarice Linhares, superintendente do Banco da Providência e coordenadora da Feira da Providência.

O avião ainda é o meio de transporte predileto para quem deseja realizar uma viagem dentro do Brasil. O aumento do dólar e os recentes problemas econômicos do país fizeram com que o cenário do turista brasileiro se modificasse um pouco. Em vez de destinos internacionais, o redescobrimento do turismo doméstico e, junto com ele, a volta do ônibus como um meio de transporte mais viável que o avião.

Em 2015, uma pesquisa realizada pelo Ministério do Turismo apontou que a intenção pelo uso de ônibus era a maior dos últimos cinco anos. Por mais que, em 2016, o cenário já esteja se reequilibrando, as viagens utilizando este modal de fato caíram de novo no gosto dos brasileiros. Os novos projetos de mobilidade urbana, que encontram no BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) uma alternativa para desafogar o trânsito nas grandes cidades, também mostram que a indústria do transporte sobre rodas respira em meio a um longo período de retração.

Certainly, 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will stay in the memory of all those who experienced or followed the numerous sporting events on television. As legacy, the city got intense improvements in urban mobility and saw its hotel industry exponentially increase, causing not only the rise in the room offer, but also in places for events in these ventures.

To stand out in this competitive market, Royal Tulip São Conrado (Royal) started yet in 2015 a real revolution in its building that once housed the Intercontinental hotel in the past. Starting with the arrival of the new general manager Nilton Cambé, 4 months ago.

For a decade, the executive worked at hotels in the Rede Atlântica (Atlantic Network), he was the hotel business director of the Beach Park Resorts and, before invited to work at BHG (Brazil Hospitality Group - owner of the brand Royal Tulip in Brazil) hold the general management of the accommodation area of the 2016 games organizing committee.

“Just before the coming of the games I got the proposal to come to BHG. Besides having the intention to stay in Rio de Janeiro, where I am since 2014, the BHG opportunity arose with this wonderful project in terms of size and that is undergoing a redesign process”, says Nilton.

About 80% of the 3,400 m² events area got investments in improvements such as new gateways and state-of-the-art audio and video equipment. The space consists of fixed and modular rooms, able to simultaneously receive 3 thousand people. Another important feature is that the rooms are located on a single floor, downstairs, allowing exclusive access to the assemblers of the event at the time discharging equipment and assembling the event. The car parks next to the lounge and there starts to make the discharge of the materials, ideal for large congresses and fairs that have lots of assembly.

"In a comparison of the period from January to August this year with the previous year, after the improvements we had a 15% increase in the number of events”, says Nilton.

“Um pouco antes da chegada dos jogos eu tive a proposta de vir para a BHG. Além de ter a intenção de permanecer no Rio de Janeiro, onde já estou desde 2014, surgiu a oportunidade da BHG com este empreendimento maravilhoso em termos de tamanho e que está passando por um processo de repaginação”, explica Nilton.

Cerca de 80% dos 3,4 mil m² da área de eventos receberam investimentos e melhorias, como novas portas de acesso e equipamentos de áudio e vídeo de última geração. O espaço é composto por salas fixas e modulares, capazes de receber, simultaneamente, 3 mil pessoas.

Outra característica importante das salas é que elas estão localizadas em um único piso, no térreo, o que permite acesso exclusivo para os montadores na hora de descarregar equipamentos e montar o evento. O carro estaciona ao lado do salão e lá já começa a fazer o desembarque dos materiais, o que é ideal para grandes congressos e feiras que possui muita montagem. “Em um comparativo do período de janeiro a agosto deste ano com o ano anterior, após as melhorias, nós tivemos um aumento de 15% no número de eventos”, comemora Nilton.

Encontro Logísitca AMBEV, Convenção Johnson & Johnson, Convenção Dentsu Aegis, Congresso de Neonatologia, Congresso de Otorrinolaringologia, IC Week – Inesquecível Casamento (anual) e ESFE-RJ foram apenas alguns dos grandes eventos que o hotel recebeu. Porém, a grande “prova de fogo” para o espaço foi de fato durante os Jogos Olímpicos, já que a Royal foi o hotel oficial da Procter & Gamble (P&G), patrocinadora da Rio 2016. “Para os atletas, familiares e convidados da P&G, eles montaram em nosso espaço de eventos alguns ambientes que simulavam as áreas dos jogos. Tudo tematizado e com entretenimento. Foi um grande sucesso. Tinha dias que passavam 1.500 pessoas pela área de eventos”.

Estrategicamente localizado entre a Barra e a Zona Sul, e a apenas 100 metros da nova estação São Conrado do metrô, o hotel aposta no seu conceito de resort urbano como diferencial para poder conquistar cada vez mais eventos. Para alimentação, por exemplo, o hotel fechou uma parceria com seu vizinho, o Shopping Fashion Mall, que pode ser acessado a pé, incrementando as opções gastronômicas.

Já para o lazer ou uma convenção diferenciada, o Royal possui uma parceria com a empresa Eco Esporte, que oferece serviços de entretenimento na região da praia e também várias alternativas, como trilhas, passeios na Floresta da Tijuca e até mesmo voos de asa-delta e parapente. “Claro que outros hotéis da cidade podem oferecer esta atividade externa, mas terão um deslocamento muito maior. Aqui estamos a cerca de 2 km da floresta", explica o gerente geral.

Academia, agenda de atividades na praia, área da piscina para coquetéis e, claro, suítes que mostram a razão das cinco estrelas do hotel fazem do Royal Tulip São Conrado o lugar ideal para todos os estilos de turismo. “O que temos feito para podermos nos destacar é usar nossos atributos, nossas características de resort urbano, onde posso atender, com excelência, tanto o perfil executivo como o de lazer", finaliza Nilton.

In some days, there were 1,500 people in the events area”.

Com 22 anos, forma-se em Turismo pela Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba. Neste meio tempo, enquanto estuda, trabalha por dois anos como agente de viagens. Após se graduar, volta para São Paulo para modelar e, para aprimorar seu trabalho, se forma como atriz em 2010.

A história acima é baseada em fatos reais e conta, resumidamente, a trajetória de Vanessa Bonilha, fundadora da Blue Face Agency. A agência teve início em 2011 e, atualmente, conta com uma carteira fixa de 20 clientes, com foco no setor de eventos. “Desde o início, o foco da Blue Face sempre foi nesta área, que hoje representa uma parcela importante da empresa”, afirma Vanessa. Além de colocar seu casting à disposição de promotores e empresas de feiras e eventos, a Blue Face também atua em desfiles, recepções, contratação de atores e modelos para publicidade, e na produção e coordenação de eventos.

Recepções, cadastramentos, promoções de vendas, degustações, distribuição de materiais, apresentações com mestres de cerimônias, músicos e presenças VIPs são algumas das atividades requisitadas pelos contratantes junto à agência nos eventos.

Além dos aspectos físicos, a empresa observa a desenvoltura e comprometimento da pessoa que almeja fazer parte do casting da agência, composto por crianças, adolescentes, adultos e idosos. “Recebemos fotos e medidas dos candidatos por e-mail.

Eles recebem uma ficha de cadastro onde devem contar também sua experiência profissional. Após isso, é agendada uma entrevista presencial onde podemos analisar o perfil do candidato para que possamos direcioná-lo aos nossos clientes de acordo com a exigência de cada trabalho”, explica Vanessa.

At the age of 14, after participating in a beauty contest , she is invited to join as a model in the cast of agência Elite - SP. Then, she receives the titles of Miss Tourism Brazil, and afterwards, Miss Teen International Model. At the age of 22, she becomes a tourism graduate at the Methodist University of Piracicaba. In the meantime, while studying, she works for two years as a travel agent. After graduating, she comes back to São Paulo to model and, to improve her work, she graduates as an actress in 2010.

The above story was based on real events and tells, briefly, the trajectory of Vanessa Bonilha, founder of the Blue Face Agency. The agency started in 2011 and currently has a set portfolio of 20 clients, and has a great focus on the events sector. "From the beginning, Blue Face has always focused in this area, which today is an important part of the company", says Vanessa. Besides having its casting available to promoters and fairs & events companies, Blue Face also operates in fashion shows, receptions, hiring actors and models for advertising, and event production and coordination.

Receptions, registrations, bars, sales promotions, tastings, distribution of materials, presentations as masters of ceremonies, musicians and VIPs attendance are some of the activities required by the clients along with the agency in the events.

Beyond the physical aspects, the company observes the resourcefulness and commitment of whoever aspires be part of the agency's casting, which is composed of children, adolescents, adults and seniors. "We receive photos and measurements of the candidates by email. They are given a registration form on which they must also write about their professional experience. Afterwards, we schedule a personal interview so we can analyze the candidate's profile in order to direct it to our customers, according to the requirements of each job”, she explains.

Com este aprimoramento, a consequência é uma aprovação maior nos testes e trabalhos requisitados. “Enxergar isso fez crescer rapidamente a quantidade e qualidade do nosso casting”, explica.

Vanessa ainda aconselha que as pessoas procurem referências antes de fechar um contrato de agenciamento ou fazer a compra de RR um book de fotos.

Entre o tempo de conexão do voo que pousou na Cidade do México e o que partiria para Los Cabos foi possível conhecer e usufruir da hospitalidade da Sala VIP da companhia aérea.

Ao desembarcar e trafegar pelo corredor turístico (cerca de 28km onde estão concentrados os principais hotéis do destino) já é possível perceber que Los Cabos é diferente de tudo o que se pensa sobre o México. Localizado em uma região de deserto, o bege amarelado da terra e a vegetação rasteira e de cactus contrastam com o mar azul de Cortés e o verde dos campos de golfe que permeiam a região. cipantes.Outro aspecto que chamou a atenção foi a própria atmosfera do hotel, construído em formato de uma típica fazenda colonial mexicana que contrasta com a sofisticada culinária e com os serviços, que justificam o empreendimento se enquadrar na categoria Grand da rede. “Criamos esta categoria para distinguir os melhores Sheratons do mundo. Hoje, são 34 e três estão na América Latina [Panamá, Rio de Janeiro e Los Cabos]. No primeiro almoço do grupo, o restaurante do hotel ofereceu o melhor da culinária mexicana e, no jantar, outra experiência marcante: noche de mercado. “Esta foi uma ideia do nosso chef, de tirar o buffet do restaurante e transformar uma área aberta como se fosse um mercado, onde cada barraca é uma estação para preparar alguma coisa, seja frutos do mar, sobremesa, uma só de saladas, etc”, explica Renato Mendonça, gerente geral do hotel.

Another surprise, now on the main stage of ITFEM: the Grand Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort. Beginning with the reception of the guests with customized drinks with the logos of the companies that were participating on the event. Another aspect that drew our attention was atmosphere of this hotel, built in the shape of a typical colonial “Mexican hacienda” that contrasted with the sophisticated cuisine and services, that could describe why the project fits into the category “Grand “ of the chain. “We created this category to distinguish the best Sheratons in the world. Nowadays there are already 34 and three are in Latin America (Panamá, Rio de Janeiro and Los Cabos). Five factors distinguishes us: Restaurant and Bars Signature, unique architecture, exclusive destinations, SPAs and also the excellence in service," explains Ricardo Iriarte, Sales Manager, Tourism and Travel of Grand Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort.

On the first lunch of the group, the hotel’s restaurant offered the best Mexican cuisine, and at the dinner, another remarkable experience: “Noche” of Market. “This was an idea of our chef, taking out the buffet service of the restaurant and transforming an open area as if it was a market, where each tent is a workstation to prepare something, either sea food, dessert, salads and etc," explains Renato Mendonça, general manager of the hotel.

Atualmente, o parque hoteleiro de Los Cabos conta com 15 mil habitações, número que irá aumentar em 4 mil até 2018, graças a marcas mundialmente reconhecidas de hotelaria que estão chegando. Serão 25 novidades entre remodelações e novos hotéis, como Hard Rock, Park Hyatt, Four Seasons e Ritz-Carlton.

Deste renovado parque hoteleiro, os executivos puderam conhecer os empreendimentos Hilton Los Cabos, ME Cabo e JW Marriott. Ao contrário de site inspections habituais – que muitas vezes podem se tornar cansativos – os hotéis literalmente abriram suas portas e piscinas, permitindo que os convidados utilizassem suas dependências para que realmente tivessem a sensação de hóspede.

Os participantes do ITFEM puderam conferir que não são só os hotéis e paisagens que fazem de Los Cabos um lugar especial. Entre as atividades realizadas pelo grupo estão passeio de veleiro, mergulho, bungee-jump, tirolesa, off-road pelo deserto e jantares surpreendentes. Um destes jantares aconteceu no Restaurante Acre, que trabalha apenas com produtos orgânicos e está desenvolvendo uma área para, no futuro, também receber eventos.

Outra atividade que chamou a atenção foi uma clínica de golfe realizada no Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club. “Somos muito reconhecidos pelos campos de golfe, inclusive sendo chamados de a Meca do golfe da América Latina”, explica Luis Palácios, diretor comercial da FITURCA. Torneios de golfe são apenas alguns dos eventos que Los Cabos recebe anualmente. A lista conta ainda com Los Cabos Open of Surf, Aberto Mexicano de Tenis (ATP), Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, Ironman, Festival Internacional de Filmes de Los Cabos, entre outros.

Fundada em 1986 e há 12 anos trabalhando em Los Cabos, a EPIC DMC foi uma das empresas apoiadoras do ITFEM no México, colaborando e mostrando que realmente o suporte existe no destino. “Tudo é possível, apenas precisamos de um pouco de tempo. Basta falar o que vocês tem em mente, que nós trabalhamos para realizar. Podem contar conosco como parceiros em Los Cabos”, garante o gerente geral da empresa em Los Cabos, Hector Giles.

Além de fazer 350 dias em média de sol, outro atrativo do destino – e que engloba o México como um todo – é que não é necessário visto de entrada e o governo oferece, para quem realiza eventos internacionais, uma economia de 16% graças ao incentivo fiscal entre recinto de feira e hotel.

Outro destaque positivo é sua posição geográfica em relação aos Estados Unidos e Canadá, que permitem até mesmo realizar um evento utilizando, quem sabe, dois destinos. “Estamos a duas horas de Los Angeles, Dallas, Texas e Cidade do México. Cerca de cinco horas de Nova York. Isto nos dá uma proximidade muito grande dos principais hubs do México, Estados Unidos e Canadá”, comemora Palácios. Tantos benefícios fazem com que o aeroporto de Los Cabos receba mais passageiros dos Estados Unidos do que o próprio aeroporto da capital do país, Cidade do México.

Novas amizades, negócios e experiências foram marcas que ficarão guardadas desta 7ª edição do ITFEM. Como disse um dos convidados, a relação de viagem é o melhor presente que se pode dar. Ela não envelhece, fica na memória para sempre e, quanto mais o tempo passa, a RR recordação fica ainda mais gostosa.

Currently the hotelier section of Los Cabos has 15.000 habitations, a number that will increase by 4.000 until 2018, thanks to hotel brands globally recognized that are coming to the area. There will be 25 news going through renovations and new hotels, like Hard Rock, Park Hyatt, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton and etc.

About this renovated hotelier section, the executives were able to learn about Hotel Hilton Los Cabos, Hotel ME Cabo and Hotel JW Marriott. Unlike the regular site inspections procedures - which often can become tiresome - the hotels literally opened their doors and swimming pools, allowing the guests to utilize two dependencies for them to really experience the feeling of a guest.

The participants of the ITFEM checked that aren’t only the hotels and scenery that are making Los Cabos a special place. Among the activities performed by the group, sailboating, snorkeling, Bungee Jump, Tyrolese, off-road circuit in the wilderness and amazing dinners were some of the surprises. One of these dinner happened at the Restaurant Acre, which only works with organic products and that also is developing an area in which events can be held in the future.

Another activity that drew our attention was a golf support held at Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club. “We are very recognized by our golf camps, including we are being called the Mecca of golf in Latin America", tells Luis Palacios - Commercial Director from FITURCA. Golf Tournaments are just some of the events that Los Cabos receives annually, which also has Los Cabos Open of Surf, Mexican Open Tennis (ATP), Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, Ironman, International Festival of Films of Los Cabos, among others.

Founded in 1986 and for 12 years working in Los Cabos, the EPIC DMC was one of the companies that supported the ITFEM in Mexico, collaborating and showing that the destination really has support.

“Anything is possible, we just need a little time. Just tell us what you have in your mind that we are going to work to accomplish. You can count on us as partners in Los Cabos," celebrates the general manager of the company in Los Cabos, Hector Giles.

In addition to 350 days of sun, on average, another attraction of the destination - and that includes Mexico as a whole - is that it is not necessary to have an entry visa and the government offers for those doing international events a saving of 16%, due to tax incentives to the exhibition fair and hotel. Another positive highlight is its geographical position in relation to the United States and Canada, which allows even hold an event using, maybe, two destinations. “We are 2 hours from Los Angeles, Dallas, Texas and Mexico City. About 5 hours from New York City. This gives us a too large closeness of the main hubs of Mexico, United States and Canada," says Palácios. “CAUTELA! NÃO CAIAS” CAVE NE CADAS “CAUTION! DO NOT FALL” - CAVE NE CADAS LUIZ MARINS

Após uma vitoriosa batalha, havia o triunfo. Triunfo era uma das maiores solenidades da antiga Roma e a maior recompensa dada aos generais vitoriosos. O general romano vitorioso, o triunfador, vestido de púrpura com uma coroa de louros na cabeça, sentado em um magnífico carro puxado por quatro cavalos brancos, era conduzido em pompa ao Capitólio romano, precedido por senadores, rodeado por parentes e amigos, e seguido por todo o seu exército e um grande número de cidadãos.

Adiante dele estavam os despojos dos inimigos vencidos: quadros e objetos de arte das províncias que tinha conquistado. Com correntes de ouro e prata iam à frente os reis e os chefes inimigos subjugados, prisioneiros. Atrás iam as vítimas que deveriam morrer.

Durante essa cerimônia, para abater um pouco o orgulho que um aparato tão deslumbrante pudesse inspirar ao triunfador, um escravo, colocado atrás dele, no mesmo carro, ecoava uma voz discordante às aclamações da multidão com cantos e palavras satíricas. “Lembra-te que és homem” gritava ele ao vitorioso. “Cautela! Não caias! [Cave ne cadas, em latim].”

Mais uma vez nos ensina a história, a mestra da vida! Mais uma vez nos ensinam os romanos. Aquele escravo, junto ao triunfador, repetia a ele aquele alerta para que, no meio da embriaguez da glória, o general romano não se esquecesse de sua condição humana. Para que tanta pompa e circunstância não o fizesse pensar ser um “deus” ou alguém dotado de poderes divinos.

O escravo repetia incessantemente o “Cave ne cadas” para que o general romano se lembrasse de que, muitas vezes, a queda segue de perto o triunfo.

Fico imaginando quantas pessoas e empresas se deixaram tornar arrogantes pelo sucesso. Pelo sucesso de um produto, pelo sucesso de um prêmio recebido, pelo sucesso de um triunfo.

Fico imaginando quantas pessoas e empresas não se deixaram embriagar pela pompa e circunstância de um momento de glória e pouco tempo depois caíram em desgraça, perderam o poder, faliram. Marcas famosas, impérios indestrutíveis, fortunas imensas. De repente, tudo acaba sem que o vulgus sequer consiga compreender como ocorreu. Às vezes, rápido demais. Às vezes, logo após o triunfo.

Fico pensando se essas pessoas e empresas tivessem tido um escravo a lhes dizer, durante o triunfo, “Cautela! Não Caias”, se elas não teriam tido mais cuidado, não teriam sido menos arrogantes, menos “cheias de si”, menos “deuses” e mais humanos. Talvez não tivessem perdido suas vidas, suas empresas, suas marcas. Talvez tivessem tido a sabedoria de ver que, justamente na vitória, a humildade é fundamental.

Se você ou sua empresa estão experimentando um grande sucesso, lembre-se de tomar cuidado para não cair. “Cave ne cadas” é um conselho que vale para todos nós.

After a victorious battle, there was the "Triumphant". Triumph was one of the greatest solemnity of ancient Rome and the greatest reward given to victorious generals. I wonder how many people and companies have become arrogant on behalf of the success. On behalf of the success of a product. On behalf of the success of a received award. On behalf of the success of a triumph.

I wonder how many people and companies let the pomp and the circumstance of a moment of glory go to their heads and, and shortly afterwards they fell into disgrace, lost power, went bankrupt. Famous brands. Indestructible empires. Immense fortunes. Suddenly everything ends without the vulgus even understanding how everything happened.

Sometimes, too fast. Sometimes right after the "Triumph".

I wonder if these people and companies had had that a slave shouting, during the Triumph, “Caution! Do not Fall” - Cave ne cadas”, maybe they would be more careful, less arrogant, less “full of themselves”, not thinking they were “gods” and maybe more humans. Maybe they would not lose their lives, their companies, their brands. Maybe they would be more wise and realize that, specially in victory, humility s essential.

VERÃO E FIM DE ANO

SUMMERTIME AND NEW YEAR'S EVE DR. MAURICIO HIRATA

Chegando o verão, parece que um pensamento coletivo vira epidemia: emagrecer. Os consultórios dos endocrinologistas e as academias de ginástica enchem e as pessoas não falam de outro assunto.

Se por um lado é bom porque decidimos tomar uma atitude, pelo outro é ruim porque o verão só dura três meses e o processo de cuidar da saúde tem que ser para sempre. Uma boa parte das pessoas faz o máximo de esforço para perder peso até as férias e, depois, abandona o processo de emagrecimento.

Para perdermos peso temos que adotar uma filosofia de vida diferente. Não basta fazer a dieta. Temos que entender porque a dieta que foi prescrita faz bem para a nossa saúde. Temos que iniciar a atividade física e insistir até que consigamos sentir os benefícios dela. É preciso perceber que dormir pouco engorda e que ficar nervoso e estressado piora os marcadores de saúde como glicemia, cortisol etc.

Nas festas de fim de ano, também achamos que o mundo vai acabar e que temos de comer tudo o que não comemos durante o ano inteiro. Durante a semana de festas, podemos perder todo o progresso de um ano se exagerarmos. É interessante ir ao supermercado e observar que há um verdadeiro frenesi em busca de iguarias calóricas. Todo mundo correndo como se não houvesse outra chance.

Neste fim de ano, presenteie a si mesmo com uma vida melhor e mais regrada. Eu garanto que será o melhor preRR sente que você já ganhou.

When summertime comes, it seems like a collective mindset becomes epidemic: to lose weight. Endocrinologists clinics and gyms fill up and people do not talk about anything else.

On one hand this is good, because we decide to make a move. On the other hand it has a downside, because summer only lasts for three months and the process of taking care of our health has to last forever. A lot of people make full effort to lose weight until vacations, and then abandon the weight loss process.

To lose weight we must adopt a different life philosophy. It's not enough to simply follow a diet; we must understand why the diet that was prescribed is good for our health. We must exercise and insist on it until we can feel the benefits of physical activities. We must realize that lack of sleep is fattening, and getting nervous and stressed out deteriorates health markers such as glycemia levels, cortisol levels etc.

During the year-end festivities we also tend to think that the world is about to end and we have to eat everything we never ate during the year. Throughout the week of celebrations, we can lose the progress made in a whole year, if we exaggerate. It is interesting to go to the supermarket and observe that there is a real frenzy looking for caloric delicacies. Everyone running like it was their last chance.

Há uma real preocupação com as tendências de negócios e dos mercados em geral para 2017. Nem é necessário explicar isto: o empresariado, em sua maioria, ainda crê que o Brasil somente vai melhor a partir de 2018. Discordo desta visão, pois me parece um tanto conservadora, para não dizer pessimista, mesmo.

Astrologicamente, a partir de dezembro de 2016 já temos sinais de recuperação da economia e da circulação de capitais. Vejo que o setor de feiras e eventos se destaca neste contexto.

O mapa astrológico do Brasil está com configurações indicadoras de crescimento neste setor.

Portanto, começa já o movimento de recuperação. É claro que nada acontece “da noite para o dia”, mas os astros ligados a este segmento estão começando a formar ângulos que facilitam os negócios e indicam fluidez, oportunidades. Júpiter e Urano já “abrem” espaço neste final de ano e, depois, Plutão dá “andamento” de março de 2017 em diante.

Em especial, destacam-se os segmentos produtivos ligados à mineração, metalmecânica, líquidos e bebidas, e tecnologia e energia. A inovação é a marca do período. Então, quem inovar RR obterá resultados bem surpreendentes. Assim sendo, vamos em frente com otimismo!

There is a real concern with the business and markets trends in general for 2017. It is not necessary to explain it, the businessmen - in it is majority - still believes that Brazil will only get better from 2018 onward. I disagree with that point of view, for it seems to me a little conservative, not to say even pessimistic.

Astrologically speaking, as of December 2016 we already have signs of the economy's recovery and capital's movement. I reckon that the fair and events section stands out in this context.

A pesquisa, feita em parceria com a MeSeems, com 1,2 mil jovens de todo o país, detectou, antes de mais nada, que este público é adepto de ações promocionais: 67% dos entrevistados disseram já ter participado de uma dessas iniciativas. No próximo dia 13 de novembro teremos o Grande Prêmio Brasil de Fórmula 1 no Autódromo de Interlagos. A etapa deste ano terá um clima especial com a anunciada aposentadoria de Felipe Massa, as dúvidas sobre para onde irá Felipe Nasr e ainda se este será o último GP de Formula 1 na pista. O que acontecerá com o autódromo? Como ficará o nosso automobilismo brasileiro? De onde virão os próximos heróis que levam a bandeira brasileira para as pistas e os pódios mundo afora?

Estas perguntas me incomodam, tanto pelo futuro como pelo passado, pois no automobilismo há mais heróis, mais vencedores e mais lutadores por trás dos bastidores do que aqueles que o grande público de imediato identifica sentados ao volante de um bólido.

De imediato vem à mente da maioria dos Brasileiros os nossos grandes campeões: Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, Emerson Fittipaldi, Hélio Castro Neves, Tony Kanaan, José Carlos Pace e outros que venceram os grandes campeonatos e importantes corridas pelo mundo.

Não devem ficar atrás também todos aqueles que fizeram o melhor com a oportunidade que tiveram e com o que as circunstâncias permitiram: Barrichello, Massa, Moreno, Boesel, Christian, Wilsinho Fittipaldi e mais uma lista que não caberia nesta coluna.

Não menos importantes para mim são aqueles que conseguiram nos emocionar, fazer sentir, aprender e até entender este mundo das corridas: Luciano do Valle, Galvão Bueno e Reginaldo Leme.

Mas esta semana, em face às notícias de que alguns candidatos à Prefeitura da Cidade de São Paulo teriam a intenção de desativar Interlagos, as lembranças da história da Fórmula 1 no autódromo me fizeram lembrar dos outros batalhadores que conquistaram um Grande Prêmio de Fórmula 1 para o Brasil. Esta é a razão desta coluna. De poder compartilhar uma história de sucesso que não me foi contada ou que eu tenha lido, mas uma sucessão de fatos que eu pude vivenciar.

Talvez os mais velhos tenham conhecimento de que a primeira prova de Fórmula 1 em

These questions bother me, both the future and the past, because in motorsport there are more heroes, more winners and more fighters behind the scenes than those which the general public immediately identifies sitting behind the wheel of a bolide.

Immediately our great champions come to the minds of most Brazilian, Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, Emerson Fittipaldi, Hélio Castro Neves, Tony Kanaan, José Carlos Pace and others who have won major championships and major races around the world. All those who made the best of the opportunity given and and that circumstances allowed should not be put aside, Barrichello, Massa, Moreno, Boesel, Christian and Wilsinho Fittipaldi, and another list that would not fit in this column.

No less important to me, are those who managed to thrill us, to make us feel, learn and even understand that in this racing world, Luciano do Valle, Galvão Bueno e Reginaldo Leme.

But this week, due to the news that some candidates to the São Paulo City Hall had intended to deactivate Interlagos Racetrack, the memories of this history of Formula 1 at Interlagos made me remember of other hard workers who have won a Formula 1 Grand Prix to Brazil.

This is the reason of this column, to be able to share a successful story that was not told me or that I have read, but a succession of facts that I could experience.

Perhaps the elderly are aware that the first Formula 1 race at Interlagos happened in 1972

Interlagos aconteceu em 1972, não contando pontos para o campeonato, com o objetivo de conseguir a aprovação da FIA para os anos seguintes. Sem dúvida, naquela altura, o sucesso de Emerson Fittipaldi na categoria impulsionou este projeto.

Porém, o caminho para esta conquista começou em 1965 com o projeto de reforma de Interlagos posterior à visita do inglês Stirling Moss, Campeão da Fórmula 1, e de Joakim Bonnier, piloto e presidente da associação dos pilotos da categoria, que vieram a convite do Dr. Piero Gancia, dono da escuderia Jolly e campeão brasileiro com a Alfa-Romeo.

Visionário, o então prefeito de São Paulo, Brigadeiro Faria Lima, contou com a ajuda da Sra. Lulla Gancia para equiparar o autódromo aos padrões internacionais da época, uma vez que ele entendia a projeção internacional para a cidade e o campo de provas e vitrine que Interlagos representava para a indústria automobilística nacional.

Em uma época em que a inclusão de um país no calendário mundial de automobilismo acontecia muito mais pela competência, empenho e habilidade das pessoas do que pelos milhões governamentais que hoje viabilizam eventos na Malásia, China, Rússia etc., um grupo de pessoas nos bastidores conseguiu o que atualmente estaria vinculado a investimentos de meio bilhão de dólares ou mais.

A partir das melhorias implementadas nos anos 60 em Interlagos, Dr. Evanio Galvão, Sr. Wilson Fittipaldi (o Barão), Dr. Eugenio Martins e o próprio Wilsinho Fittipaldi Jr. convenceram a Fórmula 1 muito mais com trabalho do que com dinheiro de que a pista de Interlagos e o Brasil seriam capazes de sediar um Grande Prêmio.

Este trabalho teve seguimento com outro hábil presidente da CBA, Charles Naccache, que durante seu mandato, de 1975 a 1980, contornou a proibição de corridas pelo governo brasileiro, manteve a Fórmula 1 e reativou as competições nacionais com carros movidos a álcool.

Sabendo desta história, vocês podem imaginar como foi chocante para mim quando alguns dias atrás vi o calendário da Fórmula 1 para 2017 incluir, provisoriamente, o Brasil, a Alemanha e o Canadá. Não tenho procuração da F1. O meu relacionamento com o atual gestor da Fórmula 1 no Brasil, Tamas Rohonyi, é de estrito respeito profissional. Sabendo das dificuldades, admiro o seu trabalho, mas da mesma maneira também me permito discordar dele quanto ao contrato da Fórmula 1 que lhe dá o direito de vetar as provas em Interlagos que contam com a participação de mais do que um determinado número de pilotos internacionais, o que para mim é uma ingerência descabida de uma empresa estrangeira na utilização de um bem público municipal.

Apesar disto, tendo vivido de perto a experiência da Fórmula Indy aqui, quando o prefeito em exercício, com base neste contrato da F1, impediu-nos de realizar a corrida em Interlagos, eu não gostaria de ver mais uma vez projetado pelo mundo a notícia de que no Brasil não se respeitam contratos, como aconteceu em Brasília quando tivemos que explicar para imprensa e para os fãs do automobilismo mundial que um contrato, mesmo tendo sido publicado no Diário Oficial, pode ser rompido sem justificativa no Brasil.

As tradicionais pistas no mundo hoje são ícones e testemunhas da evolução tecnológica e da bravura de pessoas dentro e fora dos carros. Junto com a Indianapolis Motors Speedway, Le Mans, Spa Francorchamps, Nürburgring e Monza está ranqueado o nosso autódromo José Carlos Pace, um patamar que levou 76 anos para ser conquistado e que espero, para o bem do automobilismo nacional e da história do nosso país, que continue sendo preservado para as próximas gerações.

Basta pensar que talvez o Coliseu romano, em dado momento, pode ter sido avaliado por algum mandatário como uma velha instalação desportiva que deveria ser demolida… Ainda bem que não foi!

Knowing this story you can imagine how it was shocking to me, some days ago, when I saw the Formula 1 schedule for 2017 provisionally including Brazil, Germany and Canada. I do not have F1 power of attorney, my relationship with the current Formula 1 manager in Brazil, Tamas Rohonyi, is strictly professional respect, knowing the difficulties I admire his work and likewise allow myself to disagree with him about the Formula 1 contract which gives him the right to veto races with the participation of more than a certain number of international drivers at Interlagos which, to me, is an unreasonable interference of a foreign company using a municipal public good.

Nevertheless, having lived close to the experience of IndyCar here, when the Mayor-in-office, based on this F1 contract, prevented us from performing the race at Interlagos, I would not like to see the news, spread throughout the world, that Brazil does not respect contracts as it happened in Brasilia when we had to explain to the press and to the world motorsport fans that a contract even though it was published in the Official Gazette can be breach without justification in Brazil.

Traditional tracks in the world today are icons and witnesses of technological change and the bravery of people inside and outside the cars. Along with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Le Mans, Spa Francorchamps, Nürburgring and Monza our race track José Carlos Pace is ranked, a level that took 76 years to be achieved and I hope that, for the sake of our national motorsport and the history of our country, continue to be preserved for future generations.

Just think that maybe the Roman Colosseum at some point may have been rated by some agent as an old sports facility which should be demolished ...

The Museum was conceived as a result of playful experiences, which relate the sport with the Brazilian life in the 20th century. A true "amusement park" around the passion that soccer awakens. On the three floors that the museum occupies in Pacaembu, the Museu do Futebol builds a specific narrative for the visitor.
