Hi there,

In my school there is a competition of British desserts every year for a special day called Santo Tomas and many people participate in it.

This year more than 125 desserts were presented by students and I presented a chocolate cake with three more friends. We made a beautiful cake in Arturo's house and then we took it to school and let the judges taste it. There were a lot of beautiful desserts with a very good presentation and very well worked

While the desserts were being tested, me and my group went to do other activities at the school.

After sometime the results were ready and the teachers said the first positions. Our dessert was in third place! So we are going to have a prize of 30€ and the most important thing, half point more in the English mark, this is very important for me because my mark the last term wasn't good and it is perfect for this one.

I hope you found this information very interesting! Pablo Cutillas Florido 3A

The cake contest is held every year on 24th January in the Cañada de las Eras high school. Most of the students are very excited for this cake contest because the prize is a lot of money. There are some students that work in groups of three or four, they look for the really nice cake to do. They have to choose between a small variety such as carrot cake and cheese cake. They have to cook and record a video or write a power point and send it to the English teacher. This year my friends and I decided to participate and we chose the recipe before cooking it. Then we put in common the idea of cooking a cheese cake, arranged the day of the meeting, we bought the ingredients (cheese, cream, mermelade, cookies ,strawberries, milk, sugar and butter). Then we met in my house to prepare the recipe and at the same time we were cooking the cake we had to

take photos of the process for our presentation for the teacher. The next day we had to bring the cake to the high school to become the winners. When we arrived to the staff room we had to put a label with a number in the cake and then we wrote in the teacher´s list our names with the same number. Finally we sent an email to our English teacher with our presentation in power point. Claudia Peñaranda 3º A

My teacher has asked me to write a letter to talk about de cake contest. The contest was held on January 30th, 2020 at the Cañada de las Eras secondary school. All the students of the school could participate. There were teams of up to 4 people or you can be alone . The teachers and other adults tasted the cakes that the students had made , that’s why the teachers were the juryThere were 3 winners each one took a prize that could be: • For the first winner 35 euros • For the second winner ,30 euros

For the fourth winner 25 euros

The most important thing is that you have to record a video explaining step by step the procedure of how you have done it with your friends or just the cake. It seems to me a contest that should be done every year because you have fun with your friends, you learn to cook cakes and above all you learn some words you do not know in English when recording the video. In addition, what we like most about this contest is that the teachers, by participating, raise our mark. Lucia Rivera 3A This activity consists of a series of rules or norms so that the participation is valid or admitted by the center. There are different récipes of each of them. During the process of making the cakes, each group must record a video of the process and then deliver at first hour and later, during the day, the winner and the different prizes awarded to each participant are published. Bye! Lorena Cutillas Lisón 3ºA

We decided to make a dessert for the school contest because we like cooking and even more , if we cook together. We have spent a very good time and we laughed a lot. We chose to make an apple pie because we love apples and we thought that it would be easier to make it. We were very happy with the result.
