r. Lulo and Mrs. Ruth came to this area 49 years ago being very young, initiating a new process in their lives; “marriage”, full of illusions and fortress by his youth and the new commitment. It is a story of courage and hard work to become what today Nauyaca is and why it receives thousands of international and domestic tourists every year, “Nauyaca” name comes from the Mesoamerican nahualt language and it came from a kind of snake that exist in the region; years later the word “Waterfalls” was added to the name; to finally leaving and registered the name Nauyaca Waterfalls S.A. It is common that work, the city and the technology overwhelm us and we need a break, then this is the ideal place, just 3 hours driving from San Jose along the Costanera Sur (South coastal road) you can get to a really amazing place, gifted by the nature with a spectacular scenery.
Our guides take care of every detail and make the enjoyment increases; one goes in front of the Group and one back, soft galloping between vegetation and the anxieties of the special place where we will see a fall of more than 45 meters high.
The sound of the falls, wrapped in the context of a set of film leaving you speechless out and invite you to swim in its fresh and turquoise waters, different angles where you can achieve your best photographs and give you the best memories or a video of our expert guides diving show and if you feel like you can do it just like them just go on and live a unique experience of jump. At the waterfalls the enjoyment time is approximately one hour, then returned by horse to our second stop to again delight us with the Nauyaca cooks spoon with delicious beans, tortillas, white rice, chicken and more; will leave you with a smile in your face for this delicious food and for sure your stomach will be also too.
Exactly from the Baru cross before arriving to Dominical, you must take the left hand, the same road that leads to Perez Zeledon, and just 3 kilometers is the office where they will receive you and prepare for this exciting journey of 4 hours immersed in the forest of dry tropics in the southern zone of our country.
The percentage of tourists who annually receive Nauyaca are most foreigners, perhaps if you are local tourist, you know now that there is a place where famous producers of movies and video clips come to record and perform their work to show it to the world, it is very easy to get there in a few hours and affordable for national tourists.
It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes, mountain shoes and cannot miss your camera, you won’t want to come to this beautiful place and not have a memory of it.
