INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY #IWD2023 WRAP UP
For the third year Revesby Workers’ Club held an International Women’s Day event on Wednesday 8 March 2023.
Proudly partnered with Leagues Club Australia, who represent, inform and support the needs of Member Clubs around Australia.
This annual event once again supported Biyani House - Revesby Women's Shelter. These much-needed funds provide short term emergency accommodation and support to women and their children from our local Canterbury-Bankstown community when they need it the most.
This years’ theme was #EmbraceEquity. Equity isn't just a nice-to-have; it's a must-have. When we embrace equity, we embrace diversity, and we embrace inclusion. Through equity, we can reach equality.
Hosted once again by LayDee KinMee, Australia’s most in demand drag queens and well known for her incredible vocals and unique yodelling talents, the event welcomed distinctly different and equally inspiring guest speakers Wendy Harmer, Broadcaster, Author, Journalist and Stage Performer and Robbi Mack, leading expert in resilience, performance and influence through the mastery of emotional intelligence.
During the event there were several fundraising activities, a Raffle, Balloon Pop and Guessing Competition. In conjunction with these activities and through the support of our event partner Leagues Clubs Australia, Revesby Workers' Club Board, Sponsors and attendees of this year's International Women's Day event, we collectively raised over $9,000 for Biyani House - Revesby Women’s Shelter.
