ost cameras are fitted with additional features to give greater flexibility when taking photographs.
Flash A Built-in flash works directly off the camera batteries,. and is usually effective for up to 15 feet An Auto/Sensor flash works automatically when there is insufficient light. On some sophisticated cameras, a sensor flash can be turned off for atmospheric shots, or used as a "fill-in" flash on shaded objects. Red-eye Reduction flash is useful when photographing people in low light conditions. A pre-flash contracts the subject's pupils to avoid "red eyes". Motor Drives Motorized Load will automatically advance the film to the first frame ready for use. After each shot, Motorized Advance automatically winds the film on to the next frame. At the end of the film, Motorized Rewind will completely-rewind the film ready to take out.
Auto fOCUS/FOCUS Lock Basic cameras have fixed focus, which does not vazy depending on how far away the subject is. cameras with auto focus automatically focus on the subject in the centre of the viewfinder. "Focus lock" allows you to focus on your subject and then recompose the shot, still holding your subject in focus.
110's are lightweight, with a film which simply slots into the back. They have a telephoto lens, and built-in flash for indoor use. 35mm compacts range from a basic level, similar to llO's, to sophisticated models with many additional features. They have a higher quality lens and use a 35mm film which gives better results.
Auto Exposure The shutter speed is automatically adjusted to give the right exposure for the existing light conditions. On more sophisticated cameras a backllght compensation allows for bright backgrounds. setf'lbner This allows you to set the camera to take a photograph approximately seven.seconds later, so that you can be in the shot as well! A dual self timer takes two pictures in succession, whilst a special multi-frame self timer allows you to take up to four consecutive shots. ZOOm Lens
A zoom lens allows you to bring tke subject closer and frame the shot as required without having to move. The bigger the zoom (measured in millimetres) the nearer the image, and so the larger it will appear. Macro Fadllty This allows you to take close-up shots, nearer than the usual minimum focal distance of the camera. ·
Wide Angle
A wide angle lens allows you to fit more into a particular shot, such as landscapes or large group photographs. LCDPanels On sophisticated cameras, these show the current function status, for example, the selected flash and focus mode, battery level, and how many pictures have been taken. DXCodJng
