Interlake Chapter: A Christmas Party

Text and photos by Joie Van Dongen

For the past several years, the Interlake Retired Teachers' Association has planned a Christmas get together. Invites include our members and their partners. The church hall is booked, caterers are called and vendors are notified. Yes, you can even Christmas shop. Vendors are there selling perogies, cabbage rolls, homemade soaps and creams, jewelry, gift tags, baby bibs and more. This year, after a full course turkey dinner, a couple of students from the division entertained us with several musical numbers. It brought back memories of many a school Christmas concert. This get together is such a great opportunity to visit with colleagues. One of our members had a photo published in KIT so it was fun to hold up the magazine and recognize her contribution.
Members contribute food items and / or money and this is donated to the Christmas Cheer Board. n
