This our first first-ever women-only edition of Resurgence & Ecologist, including contributors and illustrators. Why focus on women? In the words of Mary Robinson, climate justice is a feminist issue. When drought or other disasters strike, women are likely to bear the heaviest burdens. When women are involved in decision-making in their communities and at national level, they help create solutions to the climate crisis that benefit everyone.
In this issue, Catherine Early explores reforestation as a climate solution and Claire Dubois introduces the work of ‘Tree Sisters’. Co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, Skeena Rathor, writes about faith and rebellion; we publish a feature on ‘decolonisation’; and Kara Moses confronts the darker side of rewilding.
This issue reminds us that, as we experience the chaos that climate crisis is causing, there is still time to act.
