* Preamble: The Call to Reconsideration he Church, ever seeking deeper fidelity to the Gospel, acknowledges her ongoing need for conversion—not away from the truth, but ever more fully into it. In dialogue with theology, Scripture, and the lived experience of the faithful—particularly those who have been marginalized—the Church now recognizes a need to reconsider the relationship between biological sex, gender identity, and Christian personhood, especially as it pertains to transgender women. This proposal presents a framework for affirming transgender women as true sisters in Christ, not as a concession to culture, but as a fruit of authentic ecclesial discernment.

The human person is created in the image of God as a unity of body and soul. The Church has long held that sexual difference is meaningful and good. However, 1
