THE HAMPTONS BEST PARTIES “FADA House of Madness” Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center remains the Hamptons edgiest and most entertaining evening. This year’s “happening” was dubbed “FADA House of Madness.” Over 130 emerging artists from 28 countries created performances on the grounds that included: being greeted by an army of Jacques Reynaud’s Angels of Apocalypse, John Margarita’s One Ton Tank, which featured a man in a speedo in a box filled with water dancing in slow motion and a black plane doing a nose dive into the ground. Guests included Ovan gardd director Wilson’s muse Inga Maren Otto, Caroline Vreeland, Kathy and Rick Hilton, Katrina Otto-Bernstein, Chris Henchy and Alex Soros. This year’s auction helped raise two million dollars and included 125 pieces donated by the likes of Marina Abramovic, Donald Baechler and Annie Leibovitz. This year’s honoree was Madame Giancarla Berti. Ja Rule sang and word is Kanye West will perform next year. Plukka, the fine jeweler was among the night’s sponsors. Watermillcenter.org. Author’s Night Gwyneth Paltrow, Alec Baldwin, Christie Brinkley and Mary Higgins Clark were among the Honorary Chairs of the East Hampton Library’s Author’s Night. This fun fete features over 100 authors across all genres. Participating authors included Michael Gross, Florence Fabricant, Ally Hilfiger, Erica Jong, William Norwich, Jean Shafiroff, and Kate Betts. Guests bought multiple books and got them inscribed while chatting with the authors about their tomes. After the book-signings there were a series of private dinners for the authors. Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs created a delectable dinner in honor of author and chef Eric Ripert who owns Le Bernardin, at a private residence under the stars. The delectable menu consisted of pan roasted chanterelle mushrooms, grilled halibut, red chili hollandaise, crispy herb potatoes and spring Peas. This not to be missed benefit raises money for the library’s extensive programs. Sponsors included Starbucks, Swedish Culinary Summer, Domaine Franey Wines & Spirits, and the Montauk Brewing Co. authorsnight.org Ash Grove Farm Jay McInerney who’s new critically acclaimed novel is Bright, Precious Days and his wife Anne Hearst hosted the Alzheimer’s Association Rita Hayworth Gala kick-off at Ash Grove Farm, their spread in Water Mill. Gala Founder Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, the daughter of Hollywood icon Rita Hayworth, who died from the disease and this years chair Karyn Kornfeld greeted honorees Bill Brand, President of HSN, and hockey star Brendan Shanahan. Guests included Sharon Bush, Margo and John Catsimatidis, Diandra Douglas, Alexandra Lebenthal, Steve Kroft, Michele Herbert and Lady Liliana Cavendish. The black tie gala will be held at Cipriani on October 25th. Alz.org Southampton Hospital Robert Chaloner, the President and CEO of Southampton Hospital, and Steve Bernstein, the Hospital’s Foundation President congratulated Hollis and Jim Forbes and Bill Ford and Marigay McKee who co-chaired this
