Improving the Effectiveness of Training as Part of a CAPA
Angelika Tillmann, Linda Roitt, Iain SearleAreas to Consider
• Inadequate Root Cause Analysis
• Poor execution of training / assignment
• Platform limitations
• People problems
Some Ideas…(1)
• Root Cause Analysis
Don’t fall into the TRAP of thinking training will solve everything
Training
Resource
Attitude
Process
• Poor execution of training / assignment
Training must target the problem and communicate the ‘why’ Needs to be assigned to the right people (now and in the future)
Broader process and training landscape has to be considered / updated
Some Ideas…(2)
• Platform limitations
Can be challenging to manage and monitor CAPA‐related assignments, effectiveness checks and process and training consistency
− Need to ensure Issue Management, CAPAs, Action Items, Training assignments are as closely connected as possible –ideally on the same platform
• People problems
Need to communicate and ensure stakeholders are on board
Be realistic about what can be remembered, take a campaign approach Consider effectiveness check bias, mitigate where possible, reward integrity
