Add ice to 2 glasses, equally divide mixture between glasses and top each off with one cup sparkling seltzer water. Add a few half slices of lime to each glass, if desired. 3. Strawberry Lemonade Delicious, tangy lemonade made with fresh lemons and strawberries. Ingredients 2 cups fresh strawberries

Add strawberries, agave and lemon juice to a blender and pulse until strawberries are liquid. Strain juice through a sieve if you prefer most of the pulp be removed. Pour juice into a 1/2 gallon pitcher, add slices of lemon, fill with chilled water. Don’t over fill pitcher with water, add just enough to make 1/2 gallon. Pour over ice and enjoy! Garnish sides of glasses with lemon slice and half of a strawberry. 4. Orange Sports Drink Restore your electrolytes naturally! Ingredients 1 quart of water (we use distilled water) 2 tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup (optional) 1/2 teaspoon of Sea salt 1 pint no sugar added orange juice Juice from one lemon Instructions Heat 1/2 cup of the water to boiling, remove from heat, add honey and sea salt, stir until dissolved. Add the remaining water to a pitcher, add the honey water, orange and lemon juice, stir to combine. Refrigerate until ready to drink. 5. Sparkling Pomegranate Juice This sparkling juice will replace all of your processed juices and sodas! Ingredients 1/2 cup pomegranate juice, no sugar added (or any unsweetened juice of choice) 1/2 cup sparkling seltzer water squeeze of one lemon wedge ice Instructions Add ice to a glass, pour in pomegranate juice, seltzer water and lemon.

If making more than one drink, increase the number of beets used. Allow beet to cool at room temperature, refrigerate until chilled. Remove beet from foil and peel. Add to the blender, beet and ginger root, blend until combined. Add

You are quite right about my title and the best thing I can tell you about it is that the title is one of the happiest and most memorable events in my life. The competition is a great chance to realize your ambitions. Now I feel a great res ponsibility, I under stand that this is an opportunity to become an example for the younger generation. Being the queen of her life is the duty of a modern woman. I wish these emotions to everyone. This is a real fairy tale! I urge everyone to believe in themselves and in their own strength! Nothing is impossible. Constantly learn, de velop, act, dream and move forward! What has changed in your life since receiving the title?
After the victory, there was an additional confidence that anything is possible and even old childhood dreams can come true. Of course the attention increased from journalists, photo graphers, invitations to various events. Ho wever, I can`t forget that any victory implies envy and negativity. But, you know the saying, «those who are behind you always speak about you». Everything spun very quickly it remained only to have time to understand what is happening! I am glad that all this happened to me — you do not need to be afraid of new stages in life, you should just go to meet them! I guess this saying can definitely recognize the real leader and suc cessful person. You are young and talented girl who is closely connected with the world of fa shion and beauty. One of your professions is a hairstylist. How many years have you been doing this? I can truly say that my profession is my vocation. As a kid, I felt I was close to the fashion and beauty industry. It was manifested in everything. Being at the age of 5, I already in my own way, as a child, sewed expensive dresses for my grandmother, for
36 which I later caught in the neck. I did interesting funny hairstyles and make-up and of course went out into the «world». Probably since then I was not afraid of the public and liked when people pay attention to me :). Later as a teenager I became interested in drawing, which further developed my creative personality. And I already knew 1000% where I wanted to study and what would be my life’s work. I have an international higher education in the field of fashion and beauty. I have been working as a hairdresser for 7 years now. And I am extremely glad that I can create beauty and make my clients even more beautiful. Being a Queen of the, you be came the national director of the Czech Republic in beauty and modeling contests. What does this profession mean generally and for you individually? As I mentioned before the element of fashion in my life is a huge majority of all, and the new one named modeling, I met when I worked as a stylist at Fashion Week. I was interested in it. I was in vited to join a large professional team to represent Ukraine in a modeling competition led by the national director and part-time by my friend Angela Andreievska. And I am infinitely grateful to her for introducing me to the world of international beauty contests. In this world of Beauty and Modeling contests everything was already developing very rapidly, in result it gave me a lot of new acquaintances, travels, emotions and victories. What I’ve been doing for a long time is not just a modeling business, it’s a mission: I helped girls to find themselves and to show their potential. The fashion

Such an event always takes a lot of time and energy. The Vogue Model Fashion Week is a project that became a part of my life for a couple of months and left a lot of positive emotions. Yes, orga nizing such a large-scale event is definitely a colossal job. Once I read a book by Donald Trump, where he said, «Why can’t anyone create an empire like The Trump Organization? Because it’s a lot of organizational work.» This is how I remember this period of my life. I didn’t sleep, I didn’t eat, I got up early, I did 1000 things at the same time: I worked at two more beauty salons, I looked for sponsorspartners 24/7 with the whole team and a lot and a lot little necessary things for Fashion Week. It doesn’t matter how many people are doing their job, everyone needs support, advice and the usual constant control in all processes. But when you do something that gives you pleasure, you are completely indifferent to any obstacles.

Learn even more and more. So I have a constant self-improvement both in the professional sphere and in the moral and spiritual behind me. I read a lot. My hobbies are psychology and etiquette. I am constantly evolving, but learning is never enough. There are so many more interesting,

Vitalia, our team congrats you with victory in hairstylist Royal Beauty championship — Cup of Carpathians! Tell us, how was the championship held in the same time with the Covid-19 quarantine? Thank you very much! As everything now, the championship was held online. In the period from April 29 to May 1 each participant had to perform their work either on a mannequin head or on a live model (who had such an opportunity). For me, it was easier and more comfortable to make all the hairstyles on the mannequin. The work had to be created in the allotted time and according to all the above rules. The whole process had to be filmed on the video. If a maximum of 20 minutes was allocated for the hairstyle then the video should be 22 minutes. Before the start, the participant had to show the model/mannequin to the camera in order to make sure that the hair was not prepared, then the process itself was filmed and in the end you had to show all the result from all sides (necessarily a continuous recording).

You are well known as a stylist and work with both individual clients and brands. How do you find the same language with ambitious women? I love working with ambitious clients. There is always an opportunity to learn a lot from them and learn something new, and of course their energy is unbelievable. In fact, great and ingenious ideas are always born in the discussion. It’s kind of a challenge for you, because you are an ambitious person as well. What does being a stylist mean to you? Yes, I can’t deny I am such a person. Very often in fashion industry you have to be ambitious to reach success. To be a stylist for me is not a person who become to criticise your wardrobe after having a glance on it. The most important thing in this topic is to
feel the client, catch contact with him, learn as much as possible about his lifestyle, hobbies and buy a few functional clothes to create a functional and aesthetic wardrobe taking to account all the knowledge about a client gained at the start of the process. It’s about working on the set where the stylist is a key person who gathers the whole team, forms bows, holds a reflector, irons clothes and is a multifunctional soldier. What common features between the professions of designer and stylist have you found for yourself during your career? The best thing for me in the combination of the profession of designer and stylist is that at the very beginning of creating clothes I immediately think about stylization of ready-made bows, accessories and shoes for its implementation. It also saves me from emotional burnout at work as well, because when the design is tiring, I can quickly move to the style and vice versa. Both these professions are creative ones. KACEY COLEEN Please tell us about yourself. I was born in Manila, Philippines but grow up in Catbalogan Samar, Philippines. My dad is Filipino-Chinese and my mum is Japanese-Spanish. I have studied Political Science in University of the Philippines and then moved to London, United Kingdom to finish law school. I am currently a fashion stylist and parttime model. Tell us about your pageant history. I started joining regional and national pageants after high school back in the Philippines. However my very first major pageant was Miss Swimsuit UK in 2017. I won the regional heat in London and landed 2nd Runner Up on the national level. Then I competed at the Best Gobal Model of the Year in Portugal where I was awarded as the Best Female Model in Fashion Designer Dress wearing renowned fashion designer John Herrera. What inspired you to do your first pageant? When I was growing up I have always been fascinated with the ladies in the beauty contest. I have always dreamed of becoming
like them so I joined my first pageant to help me overcome my stage fright and developed my self confidence. I wanted to push my boundaries and make my family proud of me. Why did you choose to compete for your current title? lI wanted to join an international competition and be abIe to represent the Philippines. I believed in the strength of the organisation of Miss Summer World, I like how they have a very strong presence and reputable image in Albania especially that they are experienced in holding an international contest. To those unfamiliar with your pageant system please tell us what is it about? Miss Summer World is prestigious beauty pageant who selects the next ambassador for the organisation. Tell us about your platform or what cause do you volunteer for. Even prior to competing at Miss Summer World I have volunteered at the Citizens Advice Bu reau that helps the less fortunate peo ple with problems ran ging from social secu rity, immigration, ho melessness and unem ployment. 58 would have easily won the title. I have enjoyed myself during the whole competition, I was very focused and dedicated throughout the whole competition perhaps this has been noticed by the judges. My bubbly personality and charm had definitely radiated outside too and that ma de me memorable to everyone I have encoun tered. How did it feel to hear your name as the winner? I felt so happy because all my hard work and sacrifices had paid off at the same time I was honoured and humbled to be chosen the winner amongst the amazing wo men who now I consider my sisters for life. Being the first Asian and Fili pino to win the title is an achievement I will always be proud of. What does it mean to you to be a Beauty Queen? To be a beauty queen is both an accolade and a responsibility. As a Queen we are held in a status of great influence to others. Being a Beauty Queen means special to me because it moulds me become a better person. Someone who can affect and inspire other people. I know that that some people may think that being a beauty queen can be superficial but I think, time and again new breeds of Queens have proven that we can
REPUBLICPride also be a holistic personcareer driven, strong independent women who happens to be beautiful at the same time. How did competing in pageants helped your life? Pageants had an immense positive effect in my life. It helped me to have a deeper appreciation of selfawareness, reach my full potential and overcome any self-doubts. It has given another purpose in my life and ultimately being able to be a part of a community of women who have the same interests as myself. I have meet incredible women from the different pageants who are young professional and achievers on their own right. These women are catalyst of change in their respective countries. I have made genuine friendship with women of different colour, back ground, religion and cul ture because of this I have a much more liberated world view, something that no other experience nor any books could ever teach me. You are an inspiration to all the girls out there. How does it feel? I can really feel the pressure at times especially knowing that young people could look up to you, hence I strive my best to be a positive role model and a source of inspiration
to younger women to follow their dreams and never give up. Before winning I have joined pageant several times and sometimes I have not won the title itself but this has not broken my dreams instead it made me work even harder and come back fighting. As a beauty queen there really isn’t much that we can do, however we are an influencer and because of this we can mobilise and affect opinion and this turn is such a powerful tool and therefore has to be taken serious thought and deeper meaning. What are your tips for learning better pageant walk? I am very lucky that I have my beauty camp which is named The Royalty’s UK who trained me in catwalk. I have learned to enhance my posture and improve my poses and strides during catwalk. So the best advise I can offer is to practice or train with somebody experienced, as for me it made a huge difference in my pageant walk. What are your tips for choosing right pageant dress? My first tip is to conform to your own style and body shape. Obviously there is more that goes than just about choosing the right the dress so if you can have a glam squad who can help you with styling then that can

be very handy coming up with your total look that you can be both confident and comfortable carrying on stage. Never forget to put your own stamp to it (own it!) and oh please do not forget to smile always-thats is the best accessory you wear with your dress! What are your tips for winning interview? There is no shortcut to this other than reading news and current events. The modern day woman is not just beautiful, she is smart and conscientious. She is sensitive on what is going on around and she can have an opinion. She is involved in the com munity. A woman with substance is much more beautiful. Nothing really prepares you during the interview as anything and everything can be asked. Therefore real life experiences, wisdom and your stored knowledge about generally about life will play a major part. It does however help to understand the question before answering and to never panic! Take your time and breath deeply. It will calm your nerves! What is one mistake that you’ve done during competing you wish you could redo and fix it? I wish I did not rush to going back home after my competition and stayed a little bit longer at the host country, Albania to be able to explore the county more…

To be always kind to everyone, from the production team,crew, hotel staff, drivers and most es pecially to every single candi dates of the contest. Any modeling or acting expe rience? I am a published professional model. I had small theatre role in high school but none acting experience. I would be willing to act on screen if given the op portunity. What are your plans for 2021 as a Queen? This year has been wonderful year for me, I am excited of what the rest of the year has in store for me. I intend to carry on my duties and responsibilities as Miss Summer World. I have a line up of modelling jobs already including London Fashion Week, presenting, and travelling to promote my own advocacies such as human rights equality and tourism of my hometown in the Philippines. The one I am really looking forward to is my homecoming in Catbalogan Samar this coming August. What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? I wish to carry on the legacy of beauty, grace, and elegance that have been demonstrated by the past Miss Philippines title holders. The Philippines have become a powerhouse country because of its continuous winning streaks in different competition but I would like to leave a name of my own. I would want to be remembered as a Queen who is strong, nurturing, compassionate and above and beyond all the most unforgettable one.

Rex Christy Fernando, it’s a good luck to take an interview with you. We are informed that you are a producer of two short movies presented on Cannes Film Festival this year. Can you represent to us some of the details about the film and the idea which inspired you to make these movies? Hi! My name is Rex Christy Fernando from Sri Lanka. I live in France for many years, so last 5 of them I visit Cannes Film Festival. Being a photographer I saw a lot of international superstarts coming there. It’s my obsession to take photos of celebrities and models, fashion designers in Cannes. This is the great capability for making a good contact and friendship. Once I got myself on the idea of making my own film sent to the Cannes Film Festival. I thought “why can’t we? Is this impossible?”. And then the work began. 2 years before I started my first movie in motherland in Sri Lanka, the movie name “Love in Paris”,but because of financial problem we stoped the project this time. But decided to create 2 short movies special for the Cannes. First is called “Little Dreamers in Belarus” it’s a fashion movie and the second one called “Anatomist in Sri Lanka”. And we successfully sent both movies to international festivals.

As producer you take with you pageant winners to visit red carpet of Cannes Film Festival. How do you choose evening dress designers for creating interesting and expensive look? Yeah, the final look for the Red Carpet is very important for the person which will attend such a fabulous event. Before being a producer you should be a good artist, in result you must have an eye for art. That’s why almost every process and all the details depends on me, including designers. I prefer creative designers, who don’t afraid to express themselves in their clothes. You have a huge responsibility about this star event. A lot of work is done for it. Can you defined one thing you like the most during the Cannes Film Festival season? Very difficult question (Laughs). When you are the biggest fan of celebrities, super models, photos and Red Carpet it’s impossible to define just one thing you like the most. But I can surely tell all this final atmosphere gain you a lot of powers to conquer the whole world. Which year of Cannes Film Festival did you like the most? Which festival afterparty do you remember the most? To be honest I remember all the years. But most of all I remember 2019 festival. Also I remeber each afterpaty that I have been visited during last seasons

Special festival afterparties season for me is 2019, as I met a lot of friends and famous people in the same time and because of stunning atmosphere. I invited my ukrainian friends for this season the head — Angela Andreyevska, her team and models. Are you going to continue shooting the short films for the festival next year? What are your plans for 2021? Yes, of course. I like to create a good fashion film, exactly. I have so many plans, some of them are to produce movie in Cannes and other international film festivals like Berlin film festival, Boosan film festival and another ones. And to continue shootings of my main project “LOVE IN PARIS”. What are the necessities for the hero of your film? Which qualities the main character of your project should have? Being a creative one and be different. I have the best team for my movie production... The actors and actresses are changing movie by movie but I don’t look for new another team members. So it’s team but more like a family. Also, main thing to become a hero of my movie, he/ she should have flexible attitudes. Next thing is that he/she must be a talented person, of course.
