10am It’s the start of the day! Here they are at Aileron Wellness Amara Sanctuary Resort, Sentosa to get a Sports and Exercise Prescription lesson from experienced trainers.

The group is finally back in RP from Aileron Wellness and they head straight to the E-Canteen to have lunch before going to the Sports Complex for their badminton lessons.

Ready, steady, go! For the next 30 minutes, they take turns to perform different exercises in 8 minute-sets as part of circuit-training.

Wow! That sure got their adrenaline running. After circuit-training, they end off with a debrief of what they’ve learned today and some basic stretches.

They spend the next hour practicing and competing with one another before calling it a day! What a fruitful day it’s been!

Intern at Elle Magazine, Singapore I had the chance of experiencing first-hand what working in the media industry was like. I was extremely lucky to meet such a supportive team of colleagues who guided me to discover my potential by giving me opportunities, encouraging me when I did well, and sharing with me what I could have done better.

Covering stories allowed me to go out for press launches, interviews and meet new people which was very exciting.

With this eye-opening internship, I had the opportunity to interview celebrities such as celebrity chef Rachel Khoo, and my personal favourite: Isaac Wright (who plays Bran Stark on Game of Thrones).

My responsibilities as a bioinformatician included coding programmes to analyse anti-coagulation proteins, in seeking to discover better medication. As my professor was fairly busy, I had to independently resolve obstacles I met along the way. I'm grateful that SOI has taught me to be more resourceful which has equipped me with the right skills to resolve issues easily.

"If I were to describe my experiences in DigiPen in one word, it would be 'adventure'!"

"I never really knew what each day had in store for me, as I was always pleasantly surprised and challenged out of my comfort zone."

What's more, I got to experience celebrations and festivities such as Labour Day, Halloween, Black Friday Sales, and loads more during my internship. So, I’d say overall my overseas internship in DigiPen was a great adventure and I will never trade that experience for anything else.

Aquaculture Centre A 200 square metre purpose-built facility for teaching and research, the RP Aquaculture Centre comprises an indoor temperaturecontrolled room and an outdoor grow-out area that support both freshwater, saltwater, and marine aquaculture research. It also comes complete with outdoor circular tanks, indoor experimental tanks, coral tanks, and a food preparation lab for studies of feed formulation.

The new Nu3lab provides a hands-on learning experience for Diploma in Biotechnology students who are on the Food and Nutrition track. The lab has three specialised units - Food Formulation unit, Sensory Testing unit and Food Processing unit.
