Pupils can join Pre-Prep from the term that they turn three years old; there is no academic selection criteria for pupils applying to join Nursery – Year 2 Pupils accepted into these year groups will be invited to a taster session or a taster day to familiarise themselves with the Pre-Prep setting, meet members of staff, and make new friends This is a good start in becoming comfortable with a typical school day and staff will assess whether the prospective pupil will be suitable for attending further In addition, a reference will be requested from the child’s current school or nursery to ensure a smooth school transition.
Once a formal offer of a place has been received, parents will then be obliged to provide the school with the pupil's original birth certificate and/or passport, along with a deposit payment of £1 000 to secure a place

What times do you offer and are you open during term time or all year round?
Our Nursery is open term time only and the term dates can be found on the website Children can be dropped off from 800am, with chargeable after-school care provided up until 600pm Registration is 830am, with the formal school day finishing at 3.45pm. If you are only open during term time, is there a holiday club available?
Unfortunately, we do not offer holiday clubs that run throughout every school holiday here at Repton Prep. We have a very good relationship with another local private nursery who provide holiday clubs and would be delighted to put you in touch Some age-specific clubs are offered at different times in the holidays, with many requiring a minimum age of 5 years old
How do your nursery sessions work?
Our nursery sessions are 3 hours in length (830am to 1145am / 1230pm to 345pm) With the addition of lunch at 1145am for 1 hour We ask that a minimum of 3 nursery sessions per week are booked 10 sessions would equate to full-time nursery
Could you clarify nursery fees costs please?
A breakdown of our nursery charges are: £32.50 per 3-hour nursery session (AM or PM) / £2000 for lunch and one hour of care
What meals are offered at the nursery and are there any additional activities available to nursery children?
Morning and afternoon snacks / refreshments are provided at breaktimes. Lunch is provided in our main dining hall, with our nursery pupils dining first for an early lunch at midday If your child is to stay beyond 500pm, tea will be provided at a cost, which is included in the costings table below
Nursery children can choose from a number of after school activities from Nursery Hedgehogs. Activities incur an additional charge of approximately £8.80 per session.
After school care is provided up until 600pm and is charged in 15-minute increments as follows:

Do you offer government funded free childcare hours?
Yes, absolutely. We accept 15 hours of government funded childcare per week for 2 to 4-year-olds. If you are eligible for funding for 2-year-olds, you will be asked to submit your eligibility code, and we will make the necessary adjustments to your school bill
To enable the school to claim this on your behalf, we please ask that you complete the eligibility checker on the Government website as soon as possible: https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-childcare-if-youre-working
If you are eligible, please inform the school of your code straight away, along with the FE1 paperwork.
To claim funding for 3 to 4-year-olds we will ask you to complete an Early Years Funding Form, and again we will make the necessary adjustments to your school bill
Funding for 3 to 4-year-olds applies in the term after your child turns 3 years old and remains in place for six terms thereafter.
Do you also accept childcare vouchers?
Yes, we accept childcare vouchers, which can be used for nursery fees or after-school care. Once your child reaches Reception, the vouchers can only be used for afterschool care, not school fees.

From Year 3 upwards there are specific criteria that candidates must meet before joining. A good report from the child’s school must be received after which an informal assessment of Mathematics and English will be undertaken during a taster day or group assessment day within the school This will be with their current year group
The final decision will come to the Head who will approve the enrolment of the child based on successful references, assessment, and comments made by staff. Candidates for Year 7 will have a more strenuous examination process where the prospective 11+ pupil will be invited to take part in our Year 7 entry assessment day, which takes place in late January or early February
As with Pre-Prep, parents will have to provide an original birth certificate and/or passport along with a deposit payment of £1,000 to secure a place

Prospective pupils are invited to spend a day at school with their current year group cohort This enables them to familiarise themselves with the school environment, meet staff members and make new friends.
We invite pupils who are going to be boarding at Repton Prep to have one night with us in a boarding house as well as one or two days at school We recognise that boarding can be a big step for families and their children A boarding taster often helps ease little worries or concerns about what life as a boarder might be like.
Places are offered subject to performance and a satisfactory written reference from the pupil’s present school The return of the acceptance form and deposit completes the entry process
