In Rehoboth, we need a Selectman with these qualities - an individual in whom we can entrust the business of our Town while maintaining the characteristics that we hold so dear about Rehoboth; its rural charm, historical significance, and the restoration of our sense of community that seems to have been lost along the way. Jim Paon is such an individual. A 19-year resident of the Town, Jim has worked diligently over the past three years as your School Residential Commercial Committee representative to better the quality of education in Industrial Rehoboth. Oftentimes he has taken unpopular positions, such as Fully Insured A3413 holding administrators and teachers accountable for their perforMA-RI License E39021 mance, because in his heart he felt this was the correct position to take, despite political pressures to the contrary. Two years ago Jim fought hard against the replacement septic Joe O'Brien system at the High School, because he firmly believed the exist508.252.4210 • Cell 401.644.5495 ing system could be rehabbed for a fraction of the price. In the end, Jim demonstrated he is capable of something many elected officials are incapable of doing today - the ability to listen to the “other side” and reach a compromise - a compromise which provided a new septic system to the high school, for roughly one-half the cost of the original proposal. Thanks to Jim’s leadership, the community as a whole won.
