Mythical Creatures: Unicorns Unicorns are one of the most famous mythological creatures, often portrayed as a big white horse with a single horn on its forehead. The word unicorn comes from Latin; and it means, "One-horned." Unicorns are mentioned in stories and legends in different cultures around the world, like India, China, Mesopotamia, and Europe. Its popularity grew in the middle ages and Early Renaissance and it became a symbol of purity, and beauty.

So, Are Unicorns Real? Can you tell me Where to Find a Unicorn? Yes, and No‌. The fact that there are legends of Unicorns in different cultures around the world probably means that they were based on real animals, and there’s more evidence to back up this theory. Scientists discovered fossils of a one-horned animal that lived approximately 2.6 million years ago, and most recently they have discovered similar fossils from 29,000 years ago, which suggests they might have lived alongside humans. Scientists called this creature the Siberian Unicorn. According to the evidence found these creatures were approximately 7ft tall, 15 ft. tall and weighted about 4 tones (that is a lot! 1 ton = 2204 pounds). So these creatures were definitely not as pretty as the horse-like unicorns portrayed in stories and legends.
