ALL DAY CAFÉ ENHANCED RENDERING
The deliverable of this project is a full construction drawing set done purely on Revit. It highlights the skills learned in completing wall constructions, assembling steel structures, embedding modifiers, and placing components to render.
While the building was previously designed by another individual, the task of modeling and drawing was my responsibility. These drawings vary from Floor Plans to Section Details. Each having their own respective level of detail.
Detail components were placed accordingly in order to accurately reflect the special construction requirements identified on each drawing. Certain details such as metal studs, insulation, and wood nailers are shown for clarity.
Because the design of this building was not within the parameters of the task, these renderings, created in Enscape, showcase that the skill required is present. Though not many design principles were included, the objective was to make these renderings similar to any other typical office space as much as possible.
For the Whole Life Medical Centre project, I was tasked with creating a Revit working drawing from an exported AutoCAD file. Once all construction types were developed, we placed each component of the building section by section. Starting from the walls and eventually constructing the roof. Once the working drawings were completed, entourage components were placed to be rendered.
The objective of this project was to develop a construction set for a residential home. The package is complete with detailed annotations and dimensions to provide optimal information to construct the house.
This project required me to develop a full AutoCAD construction drawing set of a proposed dormitory for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. The building was designed by another student and I was tasked with ensuring that the building was constructible.
These drawings would range from Site Plans and Floor Plans to Plan Details and Stair Sections. Verifying that certain items of the drawings, such as meeting The Alberta Building Code requirements, were also part of the responsibilities of this project.
Materials that required complimentary components were part of the research conducted when investigating certain manufacturers. Similarly, connections of certain construction types would also be examined in detail to ensure that the connection is correct and accurate.
The Willems Residence exercised my ability to develop a design according to specific prerequisites included in the project. One of those conditions was to produce a contemporary, 1800 sq. ft, Bungalow home. Once the design process was complete, working drawings were produced.
These collection of details display typical drawings that may arise in a construction set. Comprehensive annotations and dimensions are included to communicate all essential information needed to build the required drawing.
IRENDER NXT - rendered front elevation
Because the building being rendered is a pharmacy, it is essential to use colors that represent the medical field. Often red and white are common colors found in medical related insignias. White colored stucco was used as one of the exterior finishes, and red colored metal trims are also implemented in the design. Lastly, stone, wood, and brick add the modern aesthetic to the building façade that is typically found in most commercial buildings.
IRENDER NXT - Exterior render
The ATB Bank project proposed a building that has its main floor function both as a bank, and a community space. Using “Courage” as the concept word, the building embraces and emphasizes bold shapes and high façades for its design. Furthermore, each finish of the building takes inspiration from landmarks that surround the building. Brick takes inspiration from the Gibson Block, aluminum panels takes inspiration from the Hyatt Place Hotel, and the stucco acts as a transition and neutralizes the two distinct finishes.
The interior also applies the same principle of multiple finishes working in cohesion. Like its exterior counterpart, each interior finish represents an aspect of ATB. Brick emphasizes hard work, concrete highlights purity, wood provides comfort, and gypsum acts as the transition between finishes.
Both the elevation and floor plan renders were done completely in Photoshop CC. In order to effectively create an aesthetically pleasing design, multiple tools within the software were used to produce these deliverables.
This rendering was created on the software, iRender. It was then imported into Photoshop CC in order to improve the overall visual presentation. Similar to other projects, multiple tools and techniques were also applied to refine the image to how it appears now.
RENDER
The Prairie Architecture project consisted of multiple sheets that showcases my ability to compose a drawing set. The project required us to detail multiple things including plans, elevations, sections and details. Each drawing displays a sense of organization of annotations and dimensions to create a legible and arranged sheet.
The DeRose Restaurant project required us to design the interior of a building. Using Revit and a rendering software called Enscape, I can translate multiple line drawings of elevations, floor plans and details into a fully rendered 3D model.
Video RenderThis project required me to develop multiple drawing sets to produce a renovated washroom. Coordination with the Alberta Building Code was needed in multiple sheets to ensure that the washrooms meet ADA requirements. All tasks were completed successfully while still producing a legible and organized construction package.
The Newport Community Centre was originally a design project that translated into construction documents. Most design features of the building were originally conceptualize using design elements and principles. Once developed, I was tasked with ensuring that all these conceptual drawings can be constructible. Finding alternatives materials and products that did not stray away from the original design concept is also one of the challenges that came with this project.
The Blackfoot Community Centre project includes a comprehensize design package of a collaborative and inclusive recreational building situated within the Blackfoot Grazing Reserve. This project required me to develop the design from start to finish and highlights the process of efficient circulation, space planning, and overall building envelope development. More details and a full report on the process can be found using the QR code.
Step 1: Division of public and private spaces and initial room planning
Step 2: Establishment of circulation and allocation of rooms and services
Step 3: Adjustment in room sizes and development of room boundaries
Step 4: Addition of curved walls to create pivot transition in spaces and to ehance space dyanimcs

The Buzz Work Space project highlights the necessary steps to create a highly functional and coherent shared work area. From initial bubble plans to refined floor plans, the development in each stage is evident in the fine tuning of room allocation and overall circulation. As a result, the user is able to engage in both private and semi-private activities without disrupting the overall flow and functionaly of the space
These hand sketches display the thought process and justification behind the previous design projects. Translating concepts into visuals is one of the many skills required to fully reinforce the feel and look an idea to a potential client.
