RENTON'S HUMAN SERVICES

DIVISION collaborates with nonprofits to assist vulnerable residents. Find resources on the Renton Human Services webpage at rentonwa.gov/socialservices or call 2-1-1 for up-to-date community information.

RENTON'S HOUSING REPAIR ASSISTANCE PROGRAM offers free minor home repairs to low-income residents, including safety installations, disability aids, plumbing, electrical fixes, and more.

To qualify for Renton's Housing Repair Assistance Program, you must: Be a homeowner and resident in Renton for at least one year, with no plans to sell in the next twelve months and meet HUD income guidelines.

To apply: Complete the application process by requesting an application via email at humanservices@rentonwa.gov or calling 425-430-6650.

After evaluation, you will be informed of your eligibility. If accepted, technicians will assess your home repair needs. Priority is given to health and safety services.

Mark your calendars for July 26-28, when we celebrate our 39th annual Renton River Days Festival. This year's theme is "Where Community Grows," a testament to the lively spirit that defines our city.

Stop into the Tuesday Farmers Market to pick up fresh produce and flowers, enjoy a tee time at Maplewood Golf Course, or discover exciting programs and activities at our recreation centers.

Opening day at Henry Moses Aquatic Center marks two decades of bringing joy to our community.

Individuals and businesses are welcome to volunteer your time and talents to support Adaptive Recreation programs, park beautification projects, youth athletics, Renton History Museum, Renton Farmers Market, Renton River Days, with the Emergency Management Dept., with the Police Dept. and more events.

One-time or ongoing opportunities are available to fit your schedule. Volunteering is a great way to connect with community members and make a difference where you work and live.

Roach Gymnastics provides instruction through their team of strength coaches. CURRENT EXHIBIT

Generously funded by 4Culture, People of the Inside tells the story of the Duwamish before and after White settlers came to Renton. Become acquainted with the Moses family, the last Duwamish to live on their ancestral land of the banks of the Black River, and learn about the Duwamish today. The exhibit features all new artifacts and photographs to better illustrate Renton's Duwamish history.

We provide year-round recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities taught by people who love building community. We are looking to add new talents to our recreation activities and programs. Only have time for the last hour of an open swim session? We got you covered! Enter at a reduced rate of $6/person during the final hour of either open swim session, subject to ticket availability of the swim session. LOCKER UPDATE

• All lockers are open and free to use, but patrons are encouraged to bring their own locks. A limited number of lender locks are available. The City of Renton is not responsible for lost or stolen items, and overnight storage is not permitted.

Discover essential water techniques and fun games for safe and comfortable aquatic enjoyment. Held in the small pool near the water slides.

SEA OTTER

Ages 3–5; w/o parent in the water Swimmers will learn water comfort, focusing on bobs, floating, kicks, and safety, in the activity pool.

ORCA • Ages 6-12

Swimmers will refine skills and increase comfort in the lap pool, covering water adjustment to stroke development across various skill levels.

KRAKEN

• Ages 13 & Up.

Our beginner swim lessons for teens and adults follow the same skill progression as younger students, customized with adult-friendly language and exercises. No previous experience needed.

Lap Swim

Ages 16 and Up. Swimmers of all abilities are encouraged to swim laps in our 25-yard lap pool.

Water Polo Club

Water Polo Club is back! Join us for twice-weekly practices aimed at enhancing water polo skills. Increased participation may lead to organized games. This club is designed for intermediate to advanced swimmers; prior swimming experience is required to sign up.

Ages 6 mo. to 5. Dive into toddler playtime at our shallow water area just for toddlers and their favorite adult. Lifeguards on duty, adults must stay close, max 2 children per adult. POOCH PLUNGE SEPT 7 & 8

Bring your dog to the Henry Moses Aquatic Center for the end of summer Pooch Plunge! Rain or shine, dogs will make a splash while taking a dip in the pool. Pet food donations will be accepted during all sessions and will be delivered to a local animal shelter after the event!

Different sessions will be organized by large dogs only (25 lbs & over), small dogs only (25 lbs & lower) and all dog sizes. $12 entry fee; registration allows for maximum 2 dogs per registrant.

Teen Night at HMAC

Ages 14-17. Kick off summer at Teen Night in Henry Moses Aquatic Center! $10 admission includes a drink and dessert, and food can be purchased from a food truck. Only registered teens will have access; wristbands are required for entry, with no re-entry allowed. Families have a designated waiting area for pick-up inside. Lockers are available upon request, and check-in is at the front entrance of Henry Moses Aquatic Center.

Ages 11-15. Join our exciting summer program for water safety, rescue, first aid, and CPR training. Have fun with beach and water activities that boost fitness, self-esteem, teamwork, and personal safety.
