The cellist and composer will play a special benefit concert in the Nightingale Sky Room at the Nevada Museum of Art on Saturday, Nov. 12. Keating uses a cello and a foot-controlled laptop to record layer upon layer of cello, creating intricate, haunting and compelling music. All proceeds from the show will benefit the Reno Philharmonic’s after-school music education program, RPA Kids, which provides free after-school music instruction at select Washoe County Title 1 elementary schools. The show begins at 8 p.m. at the NMA, 160 W. Liberty St. Tickets are $75 general admission and $35 for students with valid ID.
