Celebrate spring by getting outside and moving about. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, in partnership with Washoe County and KNPB Channel 5, present their Explore the Outdoors 5K Fun Run and Walk at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park on Saturday, April 16. The run kicks off the fifth annual day of family fun at the park, which includes games, activities, food trucks and discounted tickets to the Wilbur D. May Museum. The free event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 5K Fun Run and Walk begins at 9 a.m. and starts and ends at the Chinese Pagoda just west of the May Museum at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St. The 1K Kids Fun Run follows at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $30. Proceeds benefit Truckee Meadows Park Foundation programs.
