Landscape architecture is a world where my independent passions for the environment, design, culture, and social equity collide. Creating meaningful places where both people and other beings thrive is not merely a career for me, but feels to be a part of my purpose, an avenue to contribute to the greater good. Throughout my education, my perceptions of what landscape architecture is and what landscape architects do has expanded, only making me more enthralled to be a part of this community.
I have always had an affinity for the natural world, spending much of my free time within nature and studying earth and environmental sciences for my undergraduate degree. I often thought about what an incredible experience and privilege it was for the environment such an integral part of my identity. I understood the power of nature to inspire, heal, and restore, and I felt it necessary to both live more harmoniously with out shared environment while simultaneously giving more people access to it.
As my interests developed, I wanted to bring the beauty and inspiration of the environment to urban and everyday spaces, where people are encouraged to come together, be active, feel rejuvenated, and live meaningfully. Our landscapes are what bind us together, the weaves within the fabric of our independent lives, and I am passionate about making these integral landscapes welcoming, beautiful, expressive, and environmentally conscious.
In this project, we worked with the Raptor Recovery Center on a design for their proposed new building and the landscapes surrounding it. As a gem of Fort Collins beloved by many, we tried to take a community center approach with a design that blends in with its surroundings and creates new public spaces that help enhance the existing Hughes open space. We were able to fashion a design that is both functional and eclectic, an experience to be within and move throughout . Its organic shapes, glass structures, and indoor planting beds attempt merge the architecture to the exterior, treating the ground floor as an extension of the landscape . Our design is conducive to community in that there is space for events, exhibitions, education, activity, and leisure.

Civic space plays a vital role in enabling the exercise of fundamental rights such as freedom of assembly, expression, and association, which are essential for a vibrant democracy. It provides a platform for people to come together , voice their concerns, and engage in peaceful protest to advocate for change. Civic spaces also foster community gathering, allowing individuals to connect, share ideas, and build social capital. These spaces are where grassroots movements are often born, where marginalized voices can be heard, and where civil society can hold governments accountable. Preserving and protecting civic space is crucial for upholding democratic principles and ensuring that all voices have the opportunity to be heard. This design encourages the interactions and communication of different people and provides a space for advocacy and demonstration to occur.

The Mississippi River was once an integral cultural and economic force in the southern states. In recent years, this connection has dissipated , and the mindset now is that the river is dangerous and foul. The primary objective of this project was to reconnect people with the river , and ultimately to each other. The Mississippi River at Natchez frequently undergoes water level variations of 40 feet throughout the year. As the water levels change throughout the year, this park is submerged and revealed through the cycle. This creates a dynamic space that introduces opportunities with the waters’ edge. How people choose to interact with the river is personal - whether overlooking, playing, exploring, or relaxing, this space provides opportunities for all.
Rills for the movement of water throughout.
The water is pumped and filtered from the river to tier 1, and makes its way back to the Mississippi.
The waterfall is the final tier, experiencing the most seasonal change.

Lucina lies at the intersection of art, architecture, and sculpture. The simple sanctuary is large enough for many people yet intriguing enough to hold a solo person. In the absence of human interaction, the piece stands as a sculpture. Observed from the outside, it stands within the dunes as a piece of art that creates and shifts as the earth revolves and the qualities of light transforms the space
Lucina seeks to represent the colloquial terms of ether, light, and time . This celestial land art piece represents life and rebirth - the universal transformative experience humans go through in their lifetimes. The sun, our ultimate source of life and illumination, is also the sole creator of our perception of time. With this, Lucina becomes a visual representation of change through time.

A dense planting design for the Las Animas County Courthouse with all Colorado native plants. This planting design is inherently low water as well as low maintenance , both requirements from the client.
Although the sun is variable within the beds, this design uses all part shade plants in order to create consistency and cohesiveness throughout. The level of density and massing of plants create a wild, yet readable aesthetic.
