Ontario Provincial Police investigate local break-in and thefts Ontario Provincial Police

News -A home on BraeLoch Road in McNab/Braeside Township was broken into Friday, Feb. 21. Some time during the daytime someone approached the residence on foot and entered the unlocked home. Once inside, jewelry and a credit card were taken. Const. Chris Colton is continuing to investigate. A window was pried open on an apartment on Maloney Road in Renfrew on Thursday February 27. It does not appear as though the suspect was able to enter the residence. Provincial Constable Rick Shikatani is investigating. IMPAIRED DRIVER

On Sunday, Feb. 23 at ap-

proximately 7 p.m. OPP officers were advised of a possible impaired driver in the Township of McNab/Braeside. Another motorist reported a transport with an empty flatbed trailer weaving on River Road heading eastbound. The truck was weaving in and out of its lane, flashing high beams, and travelling at various speeds. Officers located the vehicle, parked on the shoulder of Centre Street in Braeside. A male identified himself as the driver of the vehicle and admitted he had consumed alcohol. After failing a roadside alcohol screening test he was arrested and transported to the OPP satellite office in Arnprior for further testing. Following those tests a 41-year-old McNab-Braeside

man was charged with care or control of a motor vehicle over 80 mgs. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on March 26. Const. Marc Bennett investigated. THEFT

Thieves have been busy in Arnprior stealing valuables from vehicles overnight. Several reports were received from the Bell Street, Ida Streett and McLachlin Street area of town. Stolen items include a wallet, change and two GPS units. Motorists are reminded not only to lock your vehicle when not in use, but to remove valuables from inside your vehicle. Thieves are aware people

One male is facing charges after store security at No Frills in Renfrew arrested the male for failing to pay for items. On Wednesday, Feb. 24 at about 3:20 p.m. OPP officers responded to the store where the male had been detained after stealing several razors. A 26-year-old man from Whitewater Region was charged with theft under $5,000. He was released on a promise to appear in court in Renfrew on April 16. Const. Carlvin Burgins investigated. Const. is investigating after a quantity of cash was stolen from an office in the Kenwood Corporate Centre in Arnprior on Thursday, Feb. 27. There is a suspect and the investigation is continuing. FRAUD AWARENESS
