Welcome Note

Welcome to ARIS 2023

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that we welcome you to the second edition of the Africa Renewables Investment Summit (ARIS). Since its inception, ARIS has sought to connect Africa-based renewable energy projects to potential investors through matchmaking, project pitching and deliberate connection of various stakeholders from across the globe who can help accelerate investment in Africas renewable energy sector.

As you may know, despite having the world’s largest potential for renewable energy, Africa still lags behind in terms of investment flows compared to the rest of the world. The continent only received 2% of the entire US$2 trillion dollars that have been invested in the renewable energy sector globally.

ARIS’ primary objective is to help accelerate renewable energy investment in Africa by connecting African renewable energy projects with potential investors, as well as market African countries renewable energy investment opportunities to private investors. This year’s edition builds on the success of the inaugural edition that saw a US$74 million transaction closed at the event for Empower New Energy’s portfolio of 10 C&I solar projects, for 10 African countries, by Norfund, EBRD and Climate Fund Managers. This is the single largest C&I solar transaction in Africa to date.

For this year, we have several project developers attending with hope of connecting with potential investors. We hope our delegates will take advantage of the matchmaking facility of ARIS, that is purposefully designed to help connect renewable energy businesses to potential partners. Please ensure you’re registered. Welcome to ARIS 2023!

Enjoy!
