Walking back home on a dreary night, My seemingly forgotten memories pop back Perhaps the brain was tryin’ to be kind, ’Cause color is what life lacked!

The lectures, the tests, the routines, A group of friends at the galla, ranting Expectations of a guy so keen I aimed to score high and get cracking.

I remember the day when my heart bid me adieu, I saw him sitting in a corner with a pair of glasses As he looked up at me from a book on Op-Amps, I knew The card in me was a heart, but I was bound by the societal aces.

One day at random, I received an invitation: An e-vite to a farewell gathering Was I surprised or was it agitation? The day arrived sooner than we were anticipating.

Our hearts beating faster than usual Guys and girls standing with confidence and shine Thoughts of goodbyes left a feeling of dismay, Oblivious to the passage of time. Reaching out to the fiercest of professors, I thanked them for they made me who I am Held my head up, shook hands one last time, And suddenly, my heart pounded as I ambled towards him.

All these years, I slacked. Was reserved from everyone around But knowing that this day would never come back, I mustered up courage like a hound.

I froze as he faced me with his dazzling look He stood alone like a soul unknown Spirit within, I fluttered open like a book As if the wind had just blown.

An angsty me fled that place This evening, I reminisce about that day, Feeling euphoric For I followed my heart!

As I see him beside me today, I thank the universe For the courage it gave on Farewell Day To unfold a new verse.
