The general form of the Crocodile Pavilion was derived from complex transformations done to simple geometry. The initial form, featured on the cover of this portfolio and nestled into the entry condition of this pavilion, was created from two mirrored, diagonally-extruded cylinders; the extrusions were forced to intersect, then were split along the intersecting seams. Upon reflection on these transformations, the manipulations performed were visualized overtop of representations of actions that could occur in the everyday life of a person, in order to better communicate the geometric process.
The conical nature of the form derived allowed for a fluid circulation route through to the center of this space. The narrowing geometry and the aggregation of the scaled form insighted the feeling of a expansion of space within the pavilion as it is navigated through.

It’s OK is a community organization that began as an event planning group that would throw incredible parties around the city. They made an intentional shift to focus on supporting Black artists and art workers seeking representation and developmental opportunities.
In 2022, they were offered a vacant lot on Queen Street West to house their organization as part of the community space tenancy program being put on by the City of Toronto, to account for the increased loss of art spaces in the GTA. This project poses a renovation and extension to the existing building on this lot, and proposes an expansion of the current programming of It’s OK in order to support their mission of enabling artists and developing collaborative creative spaces.
The conceptual reimagining of this centre integrates communal spaces found in the home; rooms like “The Kitchen” and “The Living Room” are used as transitional spaces in relation to acoustics and programming, while also providing informal areas for dialogue with custom designed furniture and intentional spatial planning.

This Indigenous Centre aims to interact with natural elements and existing environmental parameters such as the wind, water, sunlight and topographical conditions of the site; the goal in analyzing these characteristics is to develop forms that express a direct relationship with the land. The scheme of this proposal is derived by positioning courtyards on areas with optimal sunlight, and topographical valleys where water ponds. The outdoor courtyards work to ground the users of the site by bringing the natural aspects of the site into the building envelope.
The program features a variety of learning and gathering spaces, positioned as solid pods within the translucent envelope. These spaces are designed to maximize privacy (for consultation and deep reflection) while also providing the opportunity for collaboration. The structural columns surrounding these space support the tiered green roofs, and this assembly of green canopies and timber columns are reminiscent of a wooded area, stretching through the centre and encircling occupants in what feels like a porous but protected space.

This project aims to create a robotically-aided fabrication process that produces modules formed by flexible materials; this developmental study is positioned within the manufacturing of “fluid architecture”, or architecture that takes on an undulating and complex physical form. In contemporary construction practices, these forms are often derived from carbon-intensive materials as form or formwork, or the heavy use of natural materials as formwork, leading to the depletion of that resource.
My argument is that unique, geometrically-complex objects could be directly manufactured with the material they aim to replicate. faBRICK is a proof of concept for the fabrication of modules that utilize minimal formwork in their creation, and leverage the inherent characteristics of natural fabric to strengthen their performance as a system.

During the first month of the 2025 Biennale Architettura, I was awarded a spot in the Venice Fellowship, organized by the Canada Council for the Arts.
During my time in Italy, I conducted research on the use of natural materials in the Biennale pavilions, as well as the installations done this year. Part of this research was conducting a representational study on the pavilions and installations; this set of studies are a sample of the hand drawings and watercolour paintings I completed towards this.
