Obituary

Coleman Jerry Evans was born on May 26, 1950 to the late J.W. and Annie Ruth Evans. To this union four children were born. Coleman Jerry, Steven Gregory, Rebecca Denise, who preceded him in death and Alan Ross Evans.

Coleman, known to most as Jerry was educated in the Detroit Public School System.

Jerry graduated from Charles F. Kettering Senior High in 1968. There, Jerry was a member of the chess and math club.

Jerry was fortunate enough after graduating to get hired at Chrysler Corp. where he worked a few years and then enlisted in the U.S. Army for four years. There he met Pauline Hand. They married and to that union two children were born, Coletina Evans and Coleman J. Evans Jr. He was honorably discharged from the Army and returned to Chrysler Corp. where he retired.

Coleman confessed Christ on April 5, 2015, Easter Sunday at The Open Door C.O.G.I.C.-Detroit. Coleman leaves to cherish his memories his wife Pauline, his daughter Coletina Evans and (1) son C.J. Evans, (2) brothers, Steven (Sharon) Evans and Supt. Alan R. Evans (Miss’y Shernetta) Evans. 5 grandchildren; Shamir Evans, Charles Monroe, Jr., Donale Evans, Donae Evans and Shatearie White.
