At RE/MAX Commonwealth, you’re in business for yourself — not by yourself. Our unique system ensures you get the business leads you generate.
National advertising directs consumers to REMAX.com, where they are redirected to our office sites. Lead dispersal is based on a computer algorithm round robin, so there is no preference given to any one agent. Leads are given to you free of charge with no referral fee paid to the company.
Additional income can be earned from referral company licensees sending referrals to you. These are non-REALTOR firms with no maintenance or annual fees. Agents can have an active license, but are not allowed to list and sell.
Do you have a buyer or seller you feel you can’t service? Refer it to another associate in the company. We have associates that service all areas and specializations.
At RE/MAX, there is no corporate referral department. YOU choose the best agent for your referral through the International extranet, where you can see a photo of the agent, their production, professional designations, hobbies, languages they speak, areas of specialization, etc. You interview the agent and assure that they’re a good match for your client — then, you negotiate the referral fee. The franchise takes nothing; the company takes nothing extra. RE/MAX referrals close at twice the national average.
When you place a sign, an ad, or any type of marketing that results in a phone call to any of our offices, that call goes directly to you. We ensure that all leads coming into our office are directed to the agent whose efforts generated the phone call. Each agent is then given the information to follow through with the customer. At RE/MAX Commonwealth, referrals go to the Associates on an alphabetical rotation, not only to a selected few!

Our Marketing Department can help with all of your direct marketing requests. The cost for printing is lower than you can find anywhere in Richmond or from national vendors. RE/MAX Commonwealth staff will create a mailer for you and take care of the printing, addressing, and deliver it to the post office! All of this is done while you are out listing and selling!

Our Brokers and management are in the real estate agent service business. The office is a cooperative of top producing agents.
Associates keep 95% of their commissions and pay pro rata fees for services. Alternate splits with annual maximums are also available for qualified agents.
Associates are in control. The Broker functions more like a hospital administrator, supporting the doctors (agents) and nurses (assistants).
The Broker/Associaterelationship is a business partnership. The agents form a community of professionals often sharing and cooperating for mutual advantage.
The community of independent-minded, performing Associates creates more synergy and cooperation than the agents ever could individually. The focus remains on each agent controlling their own career and achieving their personal goals and dreams. There are no “Time Wasters”.
The average Associate is doing 13 transactions per year and optimizing their time and money. Since they are in control of their career and have the best available services, there is no need to move around. They concentrate on their careers, incomes, and outside interests. There are no marginal producers for the good agents to “carry”.
Associates keep their income and decide how best to invest their money to benefit their career. The Associates decide what services they want their broker to provide and what they want to pay for.
Everyone is a member of the cooperative. Everyone is treated equally.
Broker is in the real estate business.
Splits pay to build the broker’s business, open new offices, publicize the broker’s name and business, pay for staff that benefit the broker and not necessarily the Associates, pay to train and support new/non-performing agents.
Broker controls all decisions and agents are parts in the broker’s machinery, performing under the broker’s hefty policy manual.
Broker/Agent relationship is Parent/Child. The broker is often a “kind” parent, but holds to him or herself the right to make or change the rules and set or change splits. Agents are in conflict with one another jockeying for “freebies” or “special deals”.
The company is designed for agents who are easy to manage. The company often has to “adapt” to producing, independent-minded agents. The focus is on the growth of the company dollar and ancillary businesses.
The average agent is doing about 5 transactions per year. There is high turnover and agents move from company to company. Agents are often distracted by office “politics”.
Agents re-negotiate for some percentage of their own income each year. The broker decides what services will be provided for the money he/she extracts from the agent. As splits go up, services come down. Lower producing agents are more profitable to the company, so that is where the broker concentrates.
Referrals go to the broker’s favorites.
Some agents have “special deals”.

Your MLS access will be switched to our company and your license transfer will take place the same day.

We will input your communication information into our computers, phone systems, and copiers at all offices.
Your personal website can be activated the same day with the MLS IDX search database. Moving your URL, ordering a new URL, or redirecting a URL you already have may take a couple of days.
