ABOUT THE EVENT Theatre Peckham’s Young Producers welcomes you to [re]Glitch, an engaging and expansive event as part of Theatre Peckham’s Young, Gifted and Black season. [re]Glitch sets out to explore new potentials through which to imagine a uniquely Black diasporic vision of time and space. It aims to disrupt preconceived ideas of what it means to celebrate Black history by, drawing attention to how the past allows us to make sense of the present and, calls on us to imagine new and inclusive futures.

Brought to you by Theatre Peckham’s Young Producers, [re]Glitch puts forth a collective vision for a space encompassing kinship and community. All the while making clear the diversity in our individual experiences.

Performances throughout will both challenge and entertain. We ask you to form connections between each of the spaces represented throughout the event: Past, Present and Future.

We invite you to consider your personal responses to such themes, using this to ignite conversation and stimulate new ways of thinking.

We are celebrating a broad range of creative expression via live music, spoken word, dance, and digital media.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION Young Producers are pleased to present an Open Call exhibition as part of [re]Glitch, a celebratory event during Black History Month 2021.

The exhibition brings together a group of artists exploring themes related but not limited to; The Past, The Present, spirituality, family and community.

Artists were invited to display existing work, some of which were created during the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the last 12 weeks we have worked extremely hard to produce re[Glitch].

TATENDA MATSVAI is a facilitator and devised performance maker, working with spokenword poetry.

Their work is mainly bio-mythical, infusing their lived experience with myth, to challenge the binaries of identity and reality as an act of self-recovery. Tatenda’s performances are joyful, participatory, and multidimensional.

KYLL THOMAS COLE/ CREATED A MONSTER Kyll is a 2020 graduate from the East 15 Acting School and is an associate Artist with the David Glass Ensemble, The Pappy Show, Created a Monster, Flabbergast Theatre and Babel Theatre.

His work has been performed at Camden Fringe, Tramshed, TEDx Bedford, New Diorama SHINE BLACK, SHINE Takeover at Latitude 2021.

His aim is to continue exploration into the structure of race through work with varied groups of people from varied communities, not just through a study of the self, but through collaborative creation of poignant and provocative art centred around our societal norms.

With focus on aiming to give a conscious and fair view of situations from every perspective, giving voice and recognition to the voiceless, challenging the norms of the everyday and working to promote equity for all, and to move and inform those that don’t accept or understand the scale of these problems caused

by Humanity.

BELINDA ZHAWI MA.MOYO Belinda Zhawi is a Zimbabwean literary & sound artist based in London, author of Small Inheritances (ignitionpress, 2018). She also experiments with sound/text performance as MA.MOYO. Her work has been featured on various platforms including The White Review, NTS, Boiler Room & BBC Radio.

She’s held residencies with Triangle Asterides, Serpentine Galleries and ICA London.

Belinda’s currently working on her first full collection of poems.

XĪLHU AYEBAITARI ESE Xīlhu Ayebaitari Ese is a multi-disciplinary performance artist and DJ who combines dance with music and sound to create healing spaces through the ritual of rave.

Also the creator of @queer.rave a QTIBPOC LGBTQ+ Jungle/ Drum and Bass night that celebrates and upholds queer, female and genderqueer artists and DJs.

Xīlhu will be joined by talented West African musicians @koroleko_moussa_dembele and Noêl Mawulikplim
