ORDINANCE 2014-_____ AMENDMENT TO: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SALARIES AND SICK, PERSONAL, VACATION AND HOLIDAYS PAID BY THE CITY OF AURORA FOR THE YEAR 2014 ADDING POSITION OF CITY MANAGER AND MODIFYING CITY ATTORNEY PAY BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Aurora, Dearborn County, Indiana, that the 2014 Salary Ordinance shall be, and hereby is, amended to add the position of City Manager and modify the City Attorney pay as follows: I.
The 2014 salary for the following appointed City of Aurora personnel shall be and is hereby fixed and determined as follows: CITY ADMINISTRATIVE OR APPOINTED POSITIONS City Attorney* City Manager**
$165-$175 per hour* $50,000-$60,000 annual salary**
* Current contract is at $75 per hour, not to exceed $9,000 per month, or $108,000 per year gross pay as an independent consultant/contractor to provide both city management and legal services. As an independent contractor, this position is not provided any city benefits. This position will continue to not receive any benefits other than per hour compensation as an independent contractor. However, if office space is provided to the city attorney within the City Building, the hourly rate charged by the city attorney will be $165. If office space is not provided, the hourly rate will be $175 per hour charged by the city attorney. ** Position is full-time salaried and is FLSA exempt position that will receive city provided benefits upon terms as negotiated in an employment contract to be recommended by the mayor and approved by city council.
