IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF AUDREY HEPBURN…
L’Expo Fondation Bolle, le Château et ses musées, le Musée Alexis-Forel et la Ville de Morges présentent la troisième rétrospective mondiale de l’œuvre de Hubert de Givenchy, créateur clé du XXe siècle. La dernière légende vivante de la mode a choisi de venir à Morges en Suisse, au bord du Léman, pour l’une de ses précieuses expositions. Au travers d’un voyage dans le monde de la haute couture, le public découvrira les pièces créées par le couturier français depuis l’ouverture de la maison Givenchy en 1952 jusqu’à aujourd’hui. L’exposition se tiendra du 19 mai au 17 septembre 2017, ouverture des musées du mardi au dimanche pendant toute la durée de l’exposition.
AN ELEGANT FRIENDSHIP The Expo Fondation Bolle, the “Château et ses musées”, the Alexis-Forel Museum and the city of Morges are presenting the third major retrospective of the work of Hubert de Givenchy, a key twentieth-century creator. The last living legend in the history of fashion chose to come to Morges in Switzerland for one of its outstanding exhibitions. Through a journey into the world of Haute Couture, the audience will discover pieces crafted by the French fashion designer since the opening of the Maison Givenchy in 1952 to date. The exhibition will run from May 19 th to September 17 th 2017, museums will be open from Tuesday to Sunday during the exhibition.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF AUDREY HEPBURN … Audrey Hepburn, legendary actress, icon of style and humanitarian, was as a resident of Tolochenaz, a village just a few miles from Morges, from 1963 until her untimely death in 1993. A Swiss resident for 2/3 of her life, she resided in Tolochenaz, where she is buried, for 30 years. She acted in numerous films in the 50’s and 60’s, including « Roman Holiday » (1953) for which she was awarded an Oscar for Best Actress, «War and Peace» (1956), « Breakfast at Tiffany’s » (1961) and « My Fair Lady » (1964). From the Town Hall of Morges where she married in 1969, to the ‘Grand’ Rue’ market which she visited regularly to the Dumas grocery store with its back door through which she escaped the paparazzi, Audrey Hepburn continues to be remembered by the town and its inhabitants for her elegance, simplicity and kindness.
