Canada’s Parks Day

Celebrate parks with people across Canada! On the third Saturday of July, thousands of people participate in fun events in parks and historic sites across the country. Join us at Bertram Creek Regional Park for outdoor games, watercolour painting, guided walks, and nature programs. Bring a picnic and a swimsuit to enjoy a great day at the park.

Inspired connections in nature

Need a break from everyday life? Slow down and grow your connection to our natural world. Join Rose for these sessions in a different park each week. Come to one or all. Different creative exercises presented weekly. No experience necessary. Program most suited for people age 15+. By registration.

Watercolours by the water

Creatures of the night

Become a citizen scientist and participate in evening bat monitoring. Data collected from these program gives us a better idea of the bat species living in parks and how to better protect their sensitive habitats. All ages welcome. By registration.

Go fish!

Children can try their luck at catching fish on weekends until June 18. The pond at the Hall Road entrance to Mission Creek Regional Park and Shannon Lake are stocked with trout. Staff are on hand to help. No fishing license required for BC children aged 15 years and under.

Gibson house tours

Drop in for a visit to the Gibson heritage house and discover what life was like on an orchard homestead in the early 1900s.

Mornings at the beach!

Join us at Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park for beach fun with the kids! Start the day with nature-based activities, followed by a picnic lunch. After, we’ll head to the water to cool off and catch wild water critters. Our park interpreters will help identify your catch. Parent supervision required. Bring your own picnic lunch.

Seniors Canadian Trivia Challenge

We’re welcoming seniors from several care homes to a morning in the park competing in fun-filled, Canadian-themed trivia. Which team will be victorious and take home the prize? Come watch the action and cheer on your favourite team!

PLAY Skills Camp

PLAY Skills Camps support the development of fundamental movement skills such as throwing, catching, running, and jumping. Celebrate the return of spawning salmon! Chat with park interpreters and learn about the kokanee life cycle. Join a guided walk along the creek or stretch your creative muscles and create a take-home treasure, inspired by nature.
