It’s been a long two years since the last Reggae Sumfest. The dreaded COVID-19 Pandemic forced us to give up our favourite events, but now it’s time to get back on the road and make your way to MONTEGO BAY FOR THE RETURN OF REGGAE SUMFEST THE GREATEST REGGAE SHOW ON EARTH! So, here are some tips of how to make the most of Reggae Sumfest!
Dress to impress but mix style with comfort – Remember you are going to be jammin for the best part of 12 hours. And if you are planning to be pampered on the Luxe Lounge then the sky is the limit – Be sure to make a fashion statement!
Getting there Avoid the frustration of the traffic jams by coming early – excellent acts are on from 8:00 p.m. Come and choose your favourite spot, enjoy the ambience, the music, the food and have time to check out the marketplace. If you are coming from Kingston, just jump on the Knutsford Express to Catherine Hall.
Chairs No need to burden yourself with chairs. Chairs will be sold at the venue at a reasonable cost.

he challenges of COVID-19 and the protocols that accompanied it were nothing less than surreal; it changed our lives in unimaginable ways, especially in the entertainment industry with a complete shutdown. The 2022 return is therefore a special celebration, and we intend to deliver a magical experience. Festival Night 1, Friday 22 July boasts a star-studded line up of performers: Shenseea, Spice, Govana, Teejay, Alkaline, Masicka, Aidonia, Ding Dong, Jahshii, Rytikal, Skeng, Laa lee, 450, Chronic Law, Intence, Iwaata, and Harry Toddler. Come and enjoy performances from the next generation, Marcy Chin , Moyann, Jaesinco, Jah Fabio, Shella TopStar, Tishaine, Teebone and The Pyyros Boss. Festival Night 2, Saturday 23 July will feature performances from Beres Hammond, Koffee, Sizzla, Dexta Daps, Christopher Martin, Jada Kingdom, Yaksta, Shaneil Muir, Nation Boss, D’yani, Dre Zee, Frass, Lawgiver the Kingson, Wesrok, Khalia and Yah-Shamba. Festival Night 2 will also see the tribute to Dave Kelly, one of Jamaica’s most talented and prolific producers who is responsible, in great part, for the ascendancy of dancehall. To honour his work will be the heavy hitters Beenie Man, Cham, Wayne Wonder, Spragga Benz, Mr Easy, Frisco Kid and a mystery guest artiste.
We have started work on the Catherine Hall venue to ensure the enjoyment and comfort of all our patrons – from general admission ticketholders to those in the Ultra Luxe Lounge. All facilities are being fully refurbished, and the site has been redesigned to allow extra space and ease of movement between the food court, bars, restrooms, networking and greeting friends. We are well aware that after the hiatus of two years, the festival will be a wonderful renewal of friendships. Our gates are also being carefully arranged and manned to facilitate quick and efficient entry. We are going completely digital with tickets. All major festivals across the globe now use digital tickets and Reggae Sumfest is intent on keeping global best practices. The COVID-19 Pandemic hastened the growing trend of digital access to large events. Reggae Sumfest is a festival of Jamaican music, food and culture. Our long-standing vendors are back on board to provide mouth-watering dishes. Grace Foods, for the third time, is taking charge of the food court which they promise will be extra special as they celebrate 100 years of Grace. Our marketplace is already fully subscribed with artists and artisans who will showcase the best of Jamaica’s arts and crafts.

We invite you to spend the week in Montego Bay as we are rolling out our full festival starting Monday 18 July with our free street dance at the exquisitely refurbished Harmony Beach Park; on Tuesday it will be the return of the highly popular All White Party at Pier 1 to be followed on Wednesday and Thursday by fast-growing favorites, Blitz at Tropical Bliss Beach and the Global Sound Clash at Pier 1, respectively. Montego Bay has hosted Reggae Sumfest since its inception in 1993 and the city is ready to offer its warm welcome to all visitors, from overseas and other parts of Jamaica, alike.

On Saturday 23 July Reggae Sumfest 2022 will pay tribute to the iconic Dave Kelly of Madhouse Records with performances by Beenie Man, Cham, Wayne Wonder, Spragga Benz, Mr Easy and Frisco Kid and a mystery guest artiste. Kelly is, unarguably, one of the greatest dancehall producers of all time, known for legendar y riddims such as Bogle, Arab Attack, Heartbeat, Return, Haunted, Heartbeat, Backyard, Fiesta, 85, Pepperseed, Joyride,

Showtime, Fiesta Stink and Rae Rae. Some of the biggest hits on the label were “Action” by Terror Fabulous & Nadine Sutherland, “Sycamore Tree” by Lady Saw, “Dude” by Beenie Man & Ms. Thing, “Slam” by Beenie Man, and “Ghetto Story” by Cham. Reggae Sumfest producer, Joe Bogdanovich, noted that “the influence of reggae and dancehall music has impacted popular culture worldwide. However, while we consistently showcase our performers, who are the faces of the music, we sometimes overlook the creators of the rhythms and lyrics, the genius behind the stars. Dave Kelly is a giant in dancehall music and it is fitting that we celebrate his greatness and the massive contribution he has made to global popular music culture”.

And, that’s only one of the treats you can expect from Grace! Also in the food arena serving up a wide and diverse menu of traditional, fusion and flair will be Allesandros, Lees Pizza, Scotchies, Kingston Jerk, Jangas, and our beloved Ms. Hermine who has been with Sumfest from the start.
