To keep things fresh, this season we switched to white lights, instead of the multicolor used in the past few years. Initial feedback has been very favorable, including comments that the white lights helped to brighten the sidewalk/ pedestrian areas on both the Braddock and Trenton Avenue business districts, as well as just looking beautiful! The new outlets that we had installed last year are turning out to be a good investment, making it easier with wiring and having a reliable power source. However, the wiring to one of the outlets was damaged by what appeared to be a pole being hit, resulting in two trees not being lit. We are working with Duquesne Light to have this repaired. The holiday lights were made more enjoyable with the Light Up Night in the Square event hosted at the 3 Rivers Outdoor Company site on Saturday November 25th. 3ROC had their firepit stoked up and provided live music, and the 61B Cafe donated hot drinks to keep participants warm and happy. We hope to make Light Up Night in the Square an annual event falling on the Saturday evening after Thanksgiving (also Small Business Saturday). As a non-profit community-based organization, to borrow a line from NPR, we could not do this without the support from readers, businesses, and neighbors like you. RSCA uses a professional commercial lighting company, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives of Pittsburgh, at an annual cost of approximately $7,500, to provide and install lighting on 27 trees (22 on Braddock and 5 on Trenton). So please consider becoming, or renewing a membership, or donating, helping us to continue these programs to make Regent Square a great place to live. You can do this by going to our website at https:rsca.online, and clicking either membership or donations. Thank you.

A friendly reminder to renew your RSCA membership! A reminder that RSCA memberships run per calendar year. All members will need to renew in January (with the exception of those that joined in November or December of 2021). The Regent Square Civic Association is an all-volunteer effort, led by your own neighbors! We rely on our community memberships to fund our efforts and initiatives throughout the year. Our biggest being the holiday light display along Braddock Avenue (and now Trenton!). Please consider joining today! https:// rsca.online/ membership 1
