The Key stage Coordinator is responsible for the pastoral care of all children and teachers within the Key Stage. The Key Stage Coordinator is responsible for standards of teaching and learning. The Coordinator will support the Principal, Head of Primary and Deputy Head of Primary in upholding the philosophy of the School and will have delegated authority to lead the Key Stage to which they have been assigned. The Coordinator shall act as an exemplary model to all staff in the Key Stage in terms of outstanding teaching practice and classroom management. T he duties of the K ey Stage C oor dinator ar e:

Oversee the orientation and induction of new students, teachers, teaching assistants and support staff in the Key Stage. Assess trial day students in liaison with the Deputy Head of Primary and ensure all assessment materials are passed to the Head of Primary in good time. Be responsible for the day-to-day management of all staff in the Key Stage. Work collaboratively to ensure the smooth transition of students between Key Stages. Ensure collaborative planning between class teachers, teaching assistants and EAL teachers takes place within the Key Stage. Attend planning meetings when necessary. Monitor the long, medium and short term planning for the Key Stage and provide support when needed. Monitor the teaching and learning in the Key Stage. Coordinate all Key Stage trips. Lead Key Stage assemblies. Take responsibility for the performance management of assigned colleagues. Monitor the home-school books within the Key Stage on a half-termly basis. Lead Key Stage meetings of teachers and teaching assistants and distribute minutes to all members of the section and PMG. Lead a weekly Teaching Assistant meeting within the Key Stage in order to ensure all relevant information is disseminated and to support their ongoing development. Attend PMG meetings as required.
