An Update on Parking for 2024-25

This year, we enter an exciting multiyear construction project to enhance our campus. Unfortunately, this means parking will be more challenging due to the loss of some of our temporary parking areas.

To help ease the situation, we kindly ask for your partnership in walking, biking, or carpooling whenever possible. Please know that we are actively working on both short-term and long-term solutions to improve parking for everyone.

We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.

Athletics

The mission of the Regents Athletic Department is to train, participate, and encourage in ways that honor Christ in the pursuit of that which is true, good, and beautiful.

Athletics Values: ARMOR

ARMOR represents the values, pursuit, and intended direction of the athletic department and discipleship culture. It is rooted in Biblical theology, informed by Scripture, encourages servant-leadership, and seeks to engage in thoughtful communication. Modeling ARMOR starts with coaches, and is displayed through servant-minded leadership and thoughtful communication.

Our ARMOR is prayer (Matthew 6:9-13), readiness (Ephesians 2:10), wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), others (Mark 12:30-31), and grit (I Cor. 15:58).

Visit the official Regents Athletics website at regentssports.rankone.com for important information throughout the season such as tickets, schedules, practices, and more.

☐ Athletic Physicals and Athletic Paperwork: All athletic paperwork, including physicals, will be completed through Rank One website. (Follow this Link to Rank One Website). All athletic physicals must remain current through the entirety of the 2024-2025 academic year. Athletic physicals are valid for one year from date of issue and must remain valid through May 22, 2025.

☐ Baseline Concussion Testing: All athletes will be tested on the first day of practice. Athletic Trainers will be in contact with more information prior to testing dates.

Participation Fees

Since participating in sports is optional at Regents, athletic fees are assessed on a participation basis and not included in tuition. The Athletics Participation Fee covers items like issued uniforms, equipment, game supplies, coaching/staff salaries and stipends, transportation, referees, field costs, team issue gear that an athlete keeps, team meals, end-of-season events, etc. This fee varies based on the sport, since expenses vary by sport, and is invoiced via a family’s FACTS account during the sport season. If a family receives tuition assistance, the same percentage assistance is applied towards the participation fee, up to a maximum discount of 50%. Fine Arts

To Love and Create that which is Beautiful

Regents Fine Arts seeks to cultivate students who love and create that which is beautiful. The aim is for every student to delight in the arts as a gift from God, to discern what makes art beautiful and of quality, and to deliver their creativity into the world as an act of service and joy.

2024-2025 Regents Fine Arts Theme: Lead Up and Serve Out

This year, we’ll turn to the heart of biblical leadership as Jesus exemplified. We will consider how true leadership is about service to others and obedience to God. As we work through these ideas together, we will apply them to the Fine Arts program. How can we, as teachers and staff, grow in servant leadership? How can we provide opportunities for our students to lead and serve, whether in the classroom, on the stage, or off campus? In other words, we’re praying God would cultivate young leaders and send them out as servants.

Co-Curricular Classes

The Regents Co-Curricular program takes place after school and is an enrichment program designed to provide educational and performance opportunities for Regents students of all ages. These high quality courses or private lessons meet on a 10-14 week basis and are led by Regents teachers and professionals.

The Co-Curricular program offers academic and creative arts classes, as well as private music lessons.

Regents Weekly Newsletter

The Regents Weekly Newsletter is your best source for upcoming dates, notifications, and events K-12. It’s sent via email every Thursday throughout the school year. Please read the newsletter regularly so you don’t miss vital information!

FACTS

Check FACTS for forms, attendance tracking, health info and nurse’s office visits, tuition, athletics fees, and co-curricular fees. Parents and older students can access progress reports and report cards through the Family Portal. Parents are responsible for updating contact and medical information throughout the year, as necessary, and can do so under Web Forms. Contact information in the FACTS database is used for all teacher communications, to populate the school directory phone app, and for emergency notifications. Please be sure it is accurate.

Students in grades 7-12 have their own FACTS accounts, where they can check their own attendance, progress reports/report cards, and messages.

For questions regarding FACTS or problems with passwords, please contact IT Support (parentsupport@regentsaustin.org)

Emergency Text Alerts

FACTS drives our emergency alert notification system. If an emergency occurs during school hours, text alerts are our first notification system. Email notifications will also be sent.

Please update your email and phone allowed contacts:

☐ Add renweb.com to your address book, so you don’t miss emails sent through our provider. Emails sent through FACTS will have a renweb URL.

☐ Add 317-065 to your phone contacts; emergency text messages will come from this shortcode. Note: This short code is different from last year’s, so please make sure to update it.

☐ Add noreply@pikmykid.com to your address book; notifications for grade reports and some other routine notifications will come from this email.

☐ Add mail82.suw231.rsgsv.net to your address book; we use MailChimp for school-wide emails and they look like they come from communications@regentsaustin.org, but this is the real sender

School Directory Phone App

Download the Regents Community App! Homerooms will be updated after Friday, August 9.

The Regents Podcast

The Regents Podcast is aimed to think about and equip how we practice that which is true, good, and beautiful in a 21st century context. This has literally given a microphone to our mission, allowing us to share with our community and beyond the amazing stories happening on our campus and help equip you as parents shepherding your children’s hearts. Listen to our recent interviews and subscribe here.

Communications & Technology

Social Media

We use social media to share the great things going on at Regents with our community and with prospective families who want to learn more about us. We invite you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram

Technology in School: Grades 5-12

All students at Regents have school Google accounts. Students in grades 5-6 have accounts with extremely limited access (Google Classroom, Drive, and Email); students in the School of Logic (7-8) have features slightly beyond those for Grammar school, and School of Rhetoric (9-12) have full school accounts. These are Google for Education accounts, and adhere to Google’s privacy policy. Only your students’ names and graduation years are provided to Google. Teachers in the School of Logic and School of Rhetoric use Google Classroom as a repository for assignments and resources, so students are never without the information they need to complete schoolwork, regardless of where they are.

Students in the Grammar School are prohibited from changing their passwords, so parents have full access at any time to their account information. Grammar and SOL email accounts are locked, and may only send or receive emails within the Regents domain. This means that parents cannot send email to their students’ school accounts.

Students in grades 7-12 use the Regents Student Wi-Fi network, which has limitations appropriate for students. Use of devices (phones, tablets, Chromebooks, laptops, and any other devices), hotspots, or VPNs during school hours is governed by policies set by the Head of Logic and Head of Rhetoric. Please read the technology policy in The Standard for more information. 5th, 6th, SOL and SOR have classroom sets of Chromebooks for student use as needed. For questions regarding Google, Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Calendar, or problems with passwords, please contact IT Support at parentsupport@regentsaustin.org. Students grades 5-8, and new students grades 9-12 will receive their login information from their teachers.

Regents Parent Council

I pray that all of our Regents families are having a joyful, safe, and refreshing summer! I am both humbled and enthusiastic to serve as RPC Chair for the upcoming school year. As my family prepares to start our 10th year at Regents, by far my favorite part is the amazing families that make up our community here and continue to give time and talent to support all the good things happening on campus.

Regents Parents Council (RPC) is the community of Regents parents working together to promote the mission of Regents School of Austin, while supporting the various needs of the staff, students, and families. All parents are automatically members of RPC! We welcome each of you to get involved this year and find opportunities to build relationships with other parents, enjoy the many events during the year, and seek ways to use your gifts to volunteer. There are so many options to participate in the work of RPC: volunteering at events, driving for a field trip, helping in the classroom/art/garden/library, bringing goodies to bless the faculty and staff, and so much more. It is magnificent to see God at work in bringing all the volunteers together each year to complete the tasks of RPC with excellence and grace.

Preparations are well underway for the 2024-2025 school year, and it is going to be an outstanding year! I am thankful for the faithful administration, board members, teachers, and parents who continue to pour love and dedication into Regents. I know there may be little challenges along the way, but there is peace and joy to be found in trusting the Lord for guidance. Therefore I have chosen Philippians 4:4-7 to be my guiding scripture throughout the next year.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Regents Campus Safety Resources

The safety and security of students, faculty, and staff have always been our top priority, and we continue to evaluate how we can improve. We are implementing increased security measures on the Regents campus this year, including:

• Doors to buildings on campus will be locked at all times and only accessible by security badge or being buzzed in by the receptionist desk.

☐ Any parent, volunteer, or visitor must check in at the Grammar building before proceeding to any other building on campus. You will receive a visitor’s badge that must be worn at all times while on campus.

☐ You will not be allowed to enter any academic building on campus without wearing a visitor’s badge and being buzzed in by the receptionist desk.

☐ Only those with security badges (faculty/staff and senior students) will be able to enter SOR through the front wooden doors. All parents, volunteers, and visitors must enter SOR through the glass doors on the right side for visibility purposes.

• Continued use of armed security with increased coverage and extended security hours

• Regular Austin Police Department patrol visits

• An online tip line to allow advanced warning for any potential threats on campus

• New extra-strength window glazing and film that was installed on campus windows over the summer

• Continued use of The Standard Response Protocol for emergency management and crisis response

See Something, Say Something

Your eyes and ears are critical to the safety of our campus. It is imperative that if you see something suspicious, on campus or online, say something.

There are three ways to submit a tip:

• Email security@regentsaustin.org

• Call the Regents Security line at 737-351-7462

• Submit an anonymous tip on the online tip line

Scan to submit a tip online!
