Page 1

Welcome

Hello and welcome to our new What’s On guide, featuring a plethora of interesting acts and films coming here to your wonderful Regent Centre! The Regent headlines: The new scaffolding that is up to support the South wall in preparation for the larger works next summer, we will be installing new IT systems very soon to make booking tickets and buying ice creams a much smoother process and there will be some upgrades to our foyer and frontage to ensure you have an even nicer experience! For the first time in over three years we have decided to increase our ticket price for cinema by 50p, in reaction to increasing costs. We have resisted going any higher to keep us the most reasonable night out at the cinema in the area! This season we are pleased to welcome, for the first time, the number one selling operatic trio Tenors Un Limited and The Zoots who present their ‘Sounds of the 60’s’ show, as well as welcoming back Justin Hayward, the legendary voice of The Moody Blues in June, The Searchers and Limehouse Lizzy. Having had the highest audience admissions for Andre Rieu for the last three years running, we are looking forward to his next concert which will be beamed to our screen again on the 28th & 29th July. We are extending our broadcasts this season, including the multi Olivier nominated Musical “Everybody’s Talking about Jamie” and arguably one of the UK’s best bands Muse present their ‘Drones’ world tour, straight to our auditorium! Jimmy’s Iced Coffee will continue to show cult classic movies like The Italian Job and Aliens and we also have live ‘evenings with’ Pete Waterman, Henry Blofeld and Dan Snow – The History Guy. Peter Rabbit, the hilarious Finding Your Feet and the toe tapping Greatest Showman are back by popular demand, as well as some brand new movies; watch out for Mamma Mia 2 this summer! Indeed on the 25th August we are very excited to present our Mamma Mia Spectacular, to include the film screening and live music from Abba tribute group “Abba Angels’, edible glitter ball candy floss and free drink on arrival! Don your 70’s gear as the best dressed wins a prize! See our website www.regentcentre.co.uk for full details on how to book tickets. Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to seeing you. Rupert Barrington General Manager
