Group members, consisting of Ben Hall, Madelyn Hill, Jadyn Wolf, and Regan Wright, were assigned to design a boutique hotel and restaurant located in downtown Manhattan, KS. In a city characterized by institutions that draw people in from the across the world, there are many different cultures present. The goal was to foster connections between people of similar cultures, as well as vastly different ones. This space connects people to each other, the nature around them, and a variety of different cultures. This boutique hotel is the Bridge between these cultures, uniting everyone that visits. Human interaction is encouraged through collaborative seating and lounge areas. Connection to nature is fostered through the live tree within the lobby space and materials of biophilic nature. Visitors are provided a sneak peek of different cultures through authentic cuisine.
