BOSCH builds new headquarters in Moscow

T

he Bosch Group is starting construction on its new Russian headquarters, from which activities for both Russia and other CIS countries will be coordinated. Two connected buildings, one six stories high and the other eleven stories, will be built in an economic zone on the edge of Moscow, in the direct vicinity of Sheremetyevo International Airport. Bosch plans to invest more than 100 million euros in the project by 2013. The new buildings will have a total usable area of 57,000 square meters and will be ready for some 700 Bosch associates to move in by mid-2013. René Schlegel, who heads the Bosch regional subsidiary in Russia, said that the new buildings will bring together a number of units: sales, customer service, and training for the Automotive Technology, Industrial Technology, and Consumer Goods and Building Technology business sectors. The units are currently spread out at four different locations in the Moscow area. “This approach will allow us to serve our customers more efficiently and cut costs at the same time. The investment project testifies to our confidence in the Russian market and its further potential for growth. Innovation plays a major role for us, and so training for customers and associates will be particularly important at our new location,” said Schlegel at the ground-breaking ceremony. Construction was originally scheduled to start in 2009 but was postponed in response to the market decline during the economic crisis. www.bosch.com
