DuPont India Launches The Power of Shunya™

The Power of Shunya™ is a new growth strategy for DuPont that aims to help solve many of the issues facing India today by embracing the power of zero.

Shunya, the concept of zero, was discovered more than a thousand years ago by renowned Indian mathematician and astrologer Aryabhatta, and it became a bed rock of mathematics and science. The Power of Shunya™ is a new growth strategy for DuPont that aims to help solve many of the issues facing India today by embracing the power of zero. Like most developing countries, India faces many challenges associated with dramatic population growth, burgeoning youth, an expanding middle class and rapid urbanization. Acquisition of TSP in Indonesia

Asia Acquisition of TSP in Indonesia Strengthening sales capability for HVAC business in Indonesia with distributor excelling in commercial use equipment Daikin Industries, Ltd. acquired PT Tatasolusi Pratama (hereafter referred to as “TSP”), a leading HVAC distributor in the Republic of Indonesia, and has completed all subsequent procedures. By this acquisition, Daikin intends to leverage TSP’s sales network and expertise in the Indonesian commercial HVAC equipment market. Daikin also intends to expand its presence in the commercial market by leveraging TSP’s know-how. Indonesia, with the largest population and economy in the ASEAN region, is a market that is experiencing rapid expansion in infrastructure investment. Also there are many Japanese companies investing in this market. Daikin will accelerate its business in Indonesia beginning with the expansion of sales to local Japanese companies. Since its creation in June 2012, Daikin’s existing subsidiary company in Indonesia, PT. Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, has demonstrated its prowess in ductless air conditioning products through the steady expansion of sales. With TSP and its advantage in commercial HVAC equipment, Daikin plans a two-company system offering a product lineup ranging from room air conditioners to large-size applied equipment. Bosch opens new plant in China Bosch opened a new plant in Chengdu, western China. In the future, the plant will manufacture safety systems such as the ABS antilock braking system and the ESP(R) electronic stability program for local customers. The new site covers a total of some 127,000 square meters. Bosch, a supplier of technology and services, will be investing roughly 100 million euros in the location in the years ahead. Of this amount, 35 million euros have already been spent on the first construction phase. The new manufacturing facility will strengthen the company’s local presence. “Chinese drivers are placing increasing importance on road safety. Like in other regions, this is causing increased demand for safety systems,” said Dr. Dirk Hoheisel, who sits on the Bosch board of management, at the official opening ceremony. “Our new Chengdu plant underlines our great confidence in the world’s largest automotive market. And by manufacturing locally, we can react better and faster to the requirements of our western Chinese customers.” In organizational terms, the new plant will belong to the Chassis Systems Control division. This Bosch division manufactures and develops components and systems for active and passive safety, as well as driver assistance systems. Worldwide, Chassis Systems Control employs some 16,000 associates at more than 35 locations. It has had a manufacturing facility in Suzhou, near Shanghai, since 2002. To allow these safety systems to be www.bosch.de tested, Bosch opened a further test track in Donghai, in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, in June this year.
