Daikin AC Deals the Industry a Winning Hand at the 2011 AHR Expo with Three Winners
T
he innovative technology employed in Daikin’s energy saving line of products will be featured in Booth C1427 at the 2011 AHR Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to the AHR Expo 2011 Innovation Award winners, Daikin AC will feature many products that improve efficiency and comfort. The new 3x3 Round Flow cassette delivers uniformed 360° air distribution and provides quieter operation and powerful cooling and heating capacities. These examples, as well as Daikin AC’s entire product offering, have all been designed to give suppliers a competitive edge in a market increasingly focused on energy saving products.
Products Recognized with 2011 AHR Expo Innovation Awards Daikin Altherma™, winner of the Green Building Award, transforms unutilized energy from the outside air into usable heat and can be connected to low temperature radiators, fan coil units, radiant heating systems, and solar thermal technology for hot water production. The system is a high efficiency, year round solution for the new construction and retrofit residential markets and an ideal option for net zero homes. The system features a two-stage compression system using multiple smaller compressors. The heat pump’s legendary high energy efficiency (output between 3 to 5 times over energy consumed) is maintained even at these lower ambient temperatures. Daikin Altherma offers a total comfort solution for residential applications and supplies heating, cooling and domestic hot water more efficiently than conventional systems using oil or gas. Daikin Altherma achieves similar seasonal efficiency as ground source heat pumps but allows for easier installation and lower costs. Several Daikin products were awarded an Honorable Mention including the Quaternity™ which was recognized in the
Indoor Air Quality category. Daikin’s all-in-one appliance cools, heats, deals with the challenges of humidity and purifies the air. Quaternity currently boasts highest efficiency ratings in North America at SEER 26.1. The multi stage filtration system cleans the air by collecting molecules of allergens, odors, bacteria, and chemicals on an electrostatic filter. The molecules are decomposed by colliding them with high-speed electrons discharged from a Flash Streamer unit which has an oxidative distraction speed 1000 times higher than plasma filters. Evaluation results show that within 120 minutes, 95.2% of a simulated virus had been eliminated. Daikin’s Inverter Ducted line provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional high-efficiency gas furnace/AC and heat pump systems and was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Heating Category. Unlike traditional residential heat pump systems that require backup electric heating whenever the outside temperature is below 45°F, Daikin Inverter Ducted systems provide comfortable heating to 0°F, with 100% capacity available as low as 14°F.
