FEBRUARY

Welcome to the Southbank Centre

The Southbank Centre is a place where everyone – of all ages – can explore creativity and the arts, and in February half-term Imagine Festival explodes across our site, turning it into a colourful, joyous playground for families.

Now in its 23rd edition, Imagine Festival provides magical experiences for children aged 0 – 11 and their grown-ups, including plenty of free events.

Look out for our Southbank Centre x Montreux Jazz Festival Residency, the first collaboration of a three-year creative programming partnership with the world’s greatest jazz festival, which continues into February with appearances from Soweto Kinch, Peng Femme Jam and NYJO.

Our Hayward Gallery spring exhibitions celebrate two powerful contemporary women

artists. The first London retrospective of the punk artist Linder’s boundary-breaking examinations of identity and feminism opens this month, alongside an exhibition of pioneering portraitist Mickalene Thomas’ large-scale paintings of Black women at rest.
