Shammix Branding : Live brief set by Shane Harrison to design a logo under his DJ artist title - Shammix. The client had strong opinions on the direction in which he wanted the logo to head in, including preferences on typefaces, colour pallet etc. However with this brief I have the opportunity to broaden the requested range What I have learnt : How to deal with difficult clients. Making the client happy, let them think your idea was their own. How to collaborate with an illustrator and keep constant evaluation.

Shammix Logo : After a lot of experimentation and pdf emails sent back and forth to my client, we finally settled on the logo above. Its a rather simple sans-serif design, with detailing to the joined ‘M’s. In the end we both felt this represented my client well in his genre of music and his music’s tone of voice.

Album Artwork : Although I do enjoy producing illustrations in my own time, I felt it was neccasary to find an illustrator to produce a piece for the album artwork and further across the range. I collaborated with Jonny Packham, who very promptly produced the illustration on this board. He went further and produced several colour ways and was happy to make some minor changes and extra details when neccasary.

Ltd Edition Range : From the start of the brief my client expressed interest in producing several hundred limited edition CD’s. This way he can get an idea of how well they sell and forcast the amount to be produced for the next album. Each album will come with a limited edition poster, which will be produced on the same stock as the album packagaing.

Event Tickets : With several big gigs coming up, I produced tickets that will be sold in the venue and in music stores across the island. There will be 2 variations of tickets for each gig: Standard & VIP. The tickets will be printed on 200 gsm pulp with a spot varnish finished on the type.
