News from your local councillor Cr Paul Gollè
Division 3: Cleveland/Thornlands/Victoria Point
Dear Residents,
As we come to the close of another busy and rewarding year, I want to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
Living in such a beautiful part of southeast Queensland, we are fortunate to enjoy not only stunning surroundings but also a strong, connected community.
Christmas is a special time that brings family and friends together and reminds us to appreciate the love, kindness, and
community spirit that surrounds us. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the year gone by and look forward with hope and optimism to the year ahead.
May the true meaning of the Christmas season fill your heart and home with peace, joy, and many blessings.
I would like to sincerely thank everyone in Division 3 for your continued support, engagement, and community pride throughout 2025. It’s a privilege to represent such a caring and resilient
community, and I look forward to working together again in 2026.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Keep your pets safe this season
As we celebrate the festive season, please remember to keep your pets safe and cared for during the summer heat and holiday activities. If you’re thinking about adding a new member to your family, it’s not too late to give a loving home to one of the many animals waiting at our Redland Animal Shelter. A small act of kindness can make a big difference this Christmas.
Supporting Finncare’s 50th anniversary
I was proud to support Finncare during its 50th anniversary celebrations. From attending community events to engaging with staff and residents, it has been a privilege to recognise their incredible contribution to our region and celebrate their ongoing dedication to aged care and community services.

Listening at listening post
Throughout 2025, I hosted a community listening post at the new shopping centre on Boundary Road and Panorama Drive. Residents had the opportunity to drop by, meet their councillor, and discuss local matters. It’s been an invaluable way to hear directly from the community and stay connected with the issues that matter most.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred – Thank you Redlands

When ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred hit earlier this year, our community showed incredible strength and resilience. A big thank you to Redland City Council crews, the Australian Army, SES, emergency services, and all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to keep our city safe. Your support made all the difference and was a true reflection of the Redlands Coast spirit.

… and get ready in case it happens again
Division 3 residents are reminded to prepare for this year’s summer storm season.
To keep your property and yourself safe, it is important to ensure your home is best prepared to handle an extreme weather event.
Some of the steps you can take to secure your property include clearing downpipes and gutters, and trimming overhanging branches, trees and shrubs.
Items around the yard that could become projectiles under high-wind conditions should be secured or stored safely. Also have a think about how to secure caravans, boats and trailers.
You can subscribe to Council’s free emergency notification messaging service, Redland sCoast Alerts, via the Redlands Coast Disaster Dashboard at disaster.redland.qld.gov.au
During a disaster, the dashboard is continually updated with vital information on road closures, emergency contacts, Energex power outages, active evacuation centres and weather warnings.
Supporting youth to reach their potential
I remain committed to helping young people achieve their full potential by supporting programs, initiatives, and opportunities that build skills, confidence, and leadership. Investing in our youth today lays the foundation for a stronger, brighter community tomorrow.
Youth services enhanced
In 2025, I supported upgrades to local youth facilities, including working hands-on for ADF Cadets on infrastructure improvements. These enhancements provide safer, more engaging spaces for recreation, learning, and community programs, helping our young people thrive and stay connected.
Investing in local infrastructure
This year saw major investments in local infrastructure, including upgrades to roads, parks, community facilities, and stormwater management. These projects improve the everyday lives of residents, enhance safety, and ensure Division 3 continues to grow and thrive.

Commemorating Anzac Day
The 2025 Anzac Day dawn service marked the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. I was proud to attend and participate in the ceremonies, joining the community in honouring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of our Anzacs.
