Masala Magic There’s hardly a corner of the world untouched by the flavours of Indian cuisine. Here are some places in the Kingdom that you can head to the next time you crave a curry. Flavours of Indian cuisine have firmly established themselves as part of global gastronomy. Around the world, people happily forget the cutlery on the table and indulge in the pleasure of eating tikka masala and korma with their hands. With almost one-fourth of its population consisting of Indians, Bahrain has its fair share of Indian restaurants, serving authentic recipes from various regions of the country. Boasting working class grub shacks to fine dining venues, the island does like its food with a bit of masala. The scores of eateries lining the streets of Gudaibiya and Manama offer comfort food, reminiscent of the kitchens back home. Gowrikrishna, Saravna Bhavan and Sangeetha serve quick meals that are scrumptious and extremely light on the pocket. When you’re in the mood for some street food, get spoilt for choice at Asha’s in Manama or Mumbai Spice at The Bahrain Mall. There are many mid-range venues like Copper Chimney, Hyderabad House, PanAsia, Moti Mahal, Peppers and The Yellow Chilli that serve the quintessential dal makhni, butter chicken and paneer dishes to be ordered with a variety of naans and rice. Offering a fine dining experience are restaurants like Rasoi at Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa, which serves contemporary Indian recipes in plush

environs. Nirvana at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Spa and Akbar at Ramada Palace are known for the live ghazal entertainment on offer. Lanterns Restaurant & Lounge, with branches in Adliya, Budaiya, Riffa and Durrat al Bahrain, dishes out tandoori delights and creamy koftas in its eccentric milieu which transforms from a roadside dhabha to a palace in the beat of a Bollywood number.

Working Hours: Main branch and Riffa branches : 8.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm Bab-al-Bahrain branch : 9.00 am to 2.00 pm and 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm Cash Transactions are closed before 30 minutes.
