New Zealand Our home Location. Location. Location. Deep in the South Island @ 46.0988° S 168.9458° E is Gore, home of Mataura Valley Milk. This Southland dairy region provides us many benefits and is well established offering significant farming expertise, rural support and technologies that we draw on to produce exceptional nutrition for a growing world. Southland is also home to a significant proportion of New Zealand’s largest dairy herds and our source of milk. It’s ideal landscape and abundance of long term clean water supply makes the region ideal for pasture growth and one of the finest grass-producing regions in the world. This great pasture resource as well as investment in herd homes, standoff feed pads and supplementary feeding means a large proportion of the farms in the region can supply milk all year round with approximately 18,000 cows on year-round supply.

Purpose built Our purpose-built nutrition plant, amongst the world’s most technologically advanced, is unique in many of its specifications.

Our nutritional plant has been built with the “world’s best” objective in mind across supply, process and product control protocols

Our unique capabilities PATHOGEN MANAGEMENT • Raw milk is chilled on-farm, transported and stored onsite in raw milk silos and kept below 4.4˚C meeting USFDA standards. This ensures that the milk is always kept at a temperature that minimises the growth of bacteria, especially pathogens. • Fully segregated milk reception and separation processing area. • The installation of a bactofuge removes bacteria from liquid milk, lowers cell counts, heat resistant spores and provides extended keeping qualities. WAREHOUSING • A specially designed warehouse operating under positive pressure mitigates the ingress of foreign matter and other contaminants. • Electric forklifts reduce the risk of emission contamination of finished product and ingredients, improve operator safety and allow the warehouse area to be ventilated to reduce the risk of foreign particle contamination. • Restricted access into the warehouse. Access and personnel movements are managed and monitored on a 24/7 basis with only authorized personnel permitted into this area. • A fully automated de-palletiser enables the de-palletisation of ingredients on to conveyor in preparation for processing.

PE O

HIGH SHEAR VACUUM MIXER provides homogeneity of ingredients and dissolution on route to batch storage silos.

PLE &

OIL FREE COMPRESSION eliminates oil contamination into the process. WATER CONSERVATION A significant volume of the process water is recovered and recycled with a capital investment in the Water Treatment facility which includes the following: • Reverse Osmosis plants • UV and Chlorine Dioxide in-line units

Our fully integrated Ingredient Management Systems allow for full track and trace of all ingredients and processes.

A WELL-DOCUMENTED TRACEABILITY SYSTEM identifies the source of all inputs such as raw milk, functional ingredients and packaging through all stages of production, packaging and distribution.

DE-HUMIDIFICATION OF AMBIENT AIR reduces ambient air variations and enhances stability of functional attributes of finished Infant Formula powders.

DUAL EVAPORATORS allow flexibility to manufacture a wider range of functional infant formulas, enhanced operation of equipment efficiency and excellent quality control.

THE FINAL HEAT TREAT STEP is applied just prior to the conversion of the liquid phase (concentrate) to solid state (powder) with the philosophy of manufacturing outstanding Infant Formula Nutrition throughout the entire supply chain.
